It's obvious he cares, which is pretty important when dealing with patients who are suffering from chronic pain. He's friendly and takes the time to explain each and every medication he prescribes. While Dr. Chang is amazing, his front desk staff leaves much to be desired. I don't want to go into details with that, but I will say that Dr. Chang is worth the hassle that his front desk staff creates.

Dr. Chang first performed the fluoroscopy-guided dye injection into my hip for an arthrogram, and was polite, concerned, and extremely gracious when he learned that I was mistakenly quoted a significantly lower self-pay cost than the normal charge for the second procedure he performed (diagnostic fluoroscopy-guided anesthetic injection into my hip bursa), and even offered to include cortisone in the injection at no additional cost to try and help relieve my hip pain. I was also impressed with his nurse, Irene, who went out of her way to help me find the Lincoln Park clinic where the second procedure was performed, and where they fit me in at the last minute so I could try and have some pain relieve before I went on a long-planned vacation. All and all, I can't recommend Dr. Chang highly enough. I am considering becoming a regular patient to treat my fibromyalgia, since I know he'll do a great job--and I kind of owe him the money! ;-)

After twenty four hours the pain came back just as bad. I went back to Ascend Pain and Wellness and they prescribed some pain medication to help for the pain. I explained to them several times that I was experiencing pain from the shot. They could care less , it fell on deaf ears and all they wanted to do was push some more medication towards me or give me another shot , which I wasn't going to do , because I didn't know what kind of pain that would cause me after the first one caused pain that I had never had experienced before. After 2 years, I'm still experiencing pain and discomfort from that steroid shot. I would never go back to this place and I would recommend going back to Because the doctor who gave me the shot is a clown , as I was talking to his pain specialist josephine , I could see him clowning behind her computer screen with his fingers on the screen, as I was trying to explain to her about the pain of discomfort I was going thru because of the shot. I would go somewhere else and avoid this place all together. I'm so glad I didn't get another shot because I don't know what kind of problems that would have caused for me on top of what i'm already going through.

To give you my beck story, I caught the the flesh eating bacteria in the hospital, after a tech confirmed that a dirty surgical instrument was used during a c section. I was in a medically induced coma for months, 13 surgeries and learned to walk again. Multiple surgeries were removing muscle tissue from my abdomen, leg, and hip. I have struggled with pain, headaches etc for years. Over 18 years now, and for that time i had very little feeling in my left thigh. I knew if someone was placing their hand there, but never nerve feeling, never sensation. After 1 session with George I could feel circulation back in my leg, that i hadn't felt since before having my daughter, and having all those surgeries. Recently, I twisted my knee and couldn't bend and complete any yoga that I have been doing for a long time. After 1 treatment to my knee I was able to do things I hadn't before, and completely. After each session that is targeted, it addresses pain, posture, discomfort and has changed my life! To have feeling in my left thigh after the doctors sent me home 18 years ago, and told me "dont worry, you will get the feeling back in 6 months!" They lied! George is amazing, skilled and cares

I told them in 30 years had never been treated so poorly by a practice. In mean time my pain continues to increase. Not once dis they apologize . Would you be angry? 6). Well 2 days before date the call me and tell me because the procedure is at there office. The anesthesiologist charge will mow not be covered. Again you would think after everything I went thru they would cover that cost. But nope they would not. They even called my referral source to ask what they should do. Not sure if that is a HIPAA violation. Again I got angry. But left me know choice. Again claiming it was surgical centers fault. Give me a break. I have my share of surgeries over years. Not once did I have a cancelation by the doctor hospital or surgical center. My guess is they never followed up the facilities. But that's just a guess 7). Now the day of procedure. I never in all my years I had any problem with someone taking blood or putting in a line for IV. That includes my internist practice of 30 years for annual Che is ups, the Mayo Clinic. Northwestern. University of. Chicago surgical centers ect. BUT these incompetent niurses took five times to find a vein. I had to demand and told first nurse to get another nurse because she could do it. In mean time she leaves syringe dangled in my arm just having leaving it exposed Well here our results of IV But again no apology. No I'm beyond upset. But again they treat my as I am one who is wrong. They claim I have "wiggle veins". Never been told that. But then somehow it's my fault. What a joke. The skill level by the staff and nurses is rating of Zero. But I guess proof is in pudding. See pictures. 7) After all that. the procedure FAILED and injection did not work. 8) After all that you would think they would follow up or get call from DR Jain to see how I was. But NOPE got call from my referral source. All I can say is Dr Jain is "spineless human being who was afraid to call. 9). I called to cancel my follow up appointment visit No chance would I use this dr and his inept manager and staff. So in conclusion in my 30 plus years of medical care Including cancer treatment, aneurysm repair, annual check ups ect . Dr Jain and his team at Pinnacle Pain management was truly the worst medical care I have rver received. So here I am sitting here in bed with a neck brace. Don't walk RUN from this practice as it is truly the worst. I would have given them zero stars but it was not option.. sorry that half review got cut off. But they am sure you get the point. So I you like 3 reschedules by them , Dr and medical team that spent maybe 5-10 minutes because they're short staff un top of that. Could b care less what you have say. A pre surgical them that is worst in the business A administration staff and especially manager who is rude and un caring never taking responsibility for their poor follow up and scheduling problems. Than Dr Jain and Pinnacle Pain management is for you ;-)!

I would like to rate this office higher but cannot…read more I have been a patient of Dr. Spratford's for almost 10 years and will not go anywhere only because of how great he is as an individual. This review though is for the practice as a whole. Time and time again over the years, this office seems to have suffered the problem of getting too large, too quickly, without enough resources. When they did their major additions and upgrades it took them months to get things together. The staff was/is over-worked and there was too much traffic at all times. Outside of that transition time hasn't been better. Getting in touch with your doctor is difficult. You have to call, leave a message, and often, even if you ask for the doctor, you get a call back from the nurse. Then you have to go through the whole process of leaving a message and waiting again. The staff and RN's have repeatedly gotten my recurring prescriptions wrong when communicating with the pharmacy, sometimes costing me dearly (I will say that the office has resolved this for me with their in house pharmacy, but I had to almost demand it). Out of all of that, my biggest complaint about the office is the general lack of attention to detail. For example, if my doctor leaves town, I have to TELL the doctor filling in to check my chart. To me this should be standard operating procedure. How can you answer a question of a patient if you haven't reviewed their file? They are too busy, without enough administrative staff, and it shows in the quality of assistance I get when I'm not with my doctor. (I'm surprised there's a hidden review here that says pretty much the same thing. I knew when I came on here that I couldn't possibly be the only person who's noticed this problem creep up over the years)

She is young, probably in her 30s, and just very attentative to me. I've seen doctors in the past who were eager to get you in and out, but Dr. Vaughan takes the time to sit down and listen to what you're going through. My most recent visit was in January '08, the reason I didn't really know. I had had a perpetual throat-clearing/cough for at least a year and I was finally getting it checked out. I did some research, and didn't know if it was allergies, asthma, or GIRD. I went in there, she sat down, and said "This is when I get to be a detective and figure out what's going on with you." I thought that was AWESOME! I was in there for an hour an a half, she was running different tests on me, and we figured out that it's possibly allergy-induced asthma, and definitely some allergy issues. I feel a lot better now that we're getting to the bottom of things, and I would recommend her to anyone! Other notes: I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting area to go into a room, which is great. Nothing worse than going to the doctor's office and having to sit and wait (especially when you have an appointment!).
