After having a good visit here yesterday and then reading the harsh reviews and ratings, all I can…read moresay is, the staff here is working hard for the health of their patients and deserves more appreciation! The technicians who did the MRI and scans were polite and professional. The facility is clean and comfortable. There is plenty of free parking and the building is easy to find and in a convenient location. The administration is switching to paperless, and during this transition time, patients are required to fill out a bunch of paperwork and then fill out a duplicate questionnaire on a digital tablet. Yes, it is repetitive and annoying. I wish administration had figured out a better way. But there is no reason for patients to be aggressive to the front desk staff over this policy that they are obligated to follow as part of their job. Also, this is not an emergency room, and anyone who complains about that, needs to realize what this facility is here for--imaging. While I was waiting, I saw someone come asking for emergency medical treatment. The woman at the front desk explained that he would need to go to the ER. (I didn't hear what his illness was). Furthermore, a patient needs to have a prescription from a Dr to come here. I saw another person walk in saying he needed an xray and when the staff explained they can't do one without a Dr's signed Rx, he was angry. Lastly, the front desk staff requests every patient to use Purell upon entering. One woman I saw refused to sanitize her hands, saying she had just done it in her car before coming into the building. The front desk staff asked three times nicely and the woman refused every time. Guess what? The fourth time, the receptionist took an angry tone and then the woman complied while making a face. Based on what I witnessed and experienced yesterday, I think the staff here are doing a amazing job contending with problematic situations all day long! Everyone who is still coming to work in health care these days has my gratitude!

I had a very disappointing experience at the University Radiology Group location in East Brunswick…read more This is not the first time I've noticed that I am directed to use the self-check-in iPad while other patients who arrive after me are immediately called to the front desk and assisted by staff. During my most recent visit, there was no one being helped when I approached the front desk, yet I was told to use the iPad instead of being assisted. While I was checking in, other patients arrived and were immediately called to the desk. I politely asked why they were being helped while I was always sent to the iPad. The front desk employee told me it was because those patients were walk-ins. I then asked, "How did you know I had an appointment if I hadn't even said a word or given you my name? My appointment isn't written on my clothes." I felt the explanation did not make sense and did not address why I was being treated differently. The situation became even more upsetting when one of the front desk employees raised her voice. When I respectfully asked her to lower it, she replied, "I was born like that." It was only after I told her I was going to record the interaction that she lowered her voice. I found this behavior unprofessional and disrespectful. I felt I was treated differently from other patients. I cannot say why, but because this has happened more than once, it left me questioning whether I was being treated fairly. Every patient deserves to be treated with the same courtesy, respect, and professionalism. I do want to recognize that the radiology technologist who performed my exam was kind, professional, and respectful. My complaint is specifically about my experience with the front desk staff, not the clinical care I received. I hope management addresses this issue and ensures all patients are treated consistently and respectfully from the moment they arrive.
