I recently bought a deal on Amazon Local with Advanced Laser Vein care. The office was nice, and the visit was through, if anything too long. I was warned at the end by Dr. Bressman that his office has in the past accidently billed customers who had a voucher for his services. I signed paperwork saying I would not be billed blah blah. Well lo and behold, I get a bill a few months later for $1124.00. I wouldn't be so upset about this situation if A. His office would respond to my numerous calls and take care of the problem and B. This same situation happened to my aunt with ALVC and they sent her to collections and she has been fighting it for six months. This service is by no means worth $1124, and if it was, would they really be offering a Amazon Local voucher for a little over $100? I am a hairdresser and my salon offers Groupons and Living Socials and you collect half of what the offer is. So trust me, he's not doing $1124 worth of work for about $55. And if your staff keeps billing customers wouldn't you correct the issue already? And they do not send out bills directly, they bill from a third party agency. So you cannot just call the number on your bill and speak to an agent to have it corrected. You need to get a hold of someone at Dr. Bressmans office. So do yourself a favor and don't go here. I had my veins removed over a year ago and I was able to return to work right away.. the pain from these veins were completely gone right away! since then over a year I have not had any problems.. I called my insurance to confirm they were in my network. WELL....$1,142.00 dollars n three months later!!! Received a bill NOTHING was covered. Called there office and confirmed it was covered. I chose Dr. Bressman from Advanced Laser Vein Care because his office was close to my home. This is a bad choice. I should have researched online on the reviews before I go there. After all, when you choose a spider vein doctor, effectiveness is the key, not the closeness of the locations. They charged $300 per treatment, which is expensive (a lot of vein doctors would give less expensive price per treatment), and they said I would see improvement in 8-10 weeks. Well, I waited, but the thing is, after over 3 months, I do not see ANY improvements (no small improvement, nothing). I even asked my families to look at my legs, they said the same thing. My legs look the same as they have never received any treatment. I did a lot of reading on laser and sclerotherapy treatment online. I know the treatments should work if they are done correctly. And right before I write my review, I notice another reviewer says the office has billing issues. This is also true, I got a bill of $800 something after a first introduction appointment and I didn't get a before-hand warning that I would get a 'mortgage-like' bill. I had to call their office and call their billing person to fix this. It took me several calls and the person from the billing department did not even apologize for this big billing problem. In summary, do not go to this office. The treatments do not work and you might get a huge bill that you need to call them many times before it gets fixed. read more

I have been troubled with varicose veins for a long time. I belong to an HMO and have asked for help several times but nothing was ever done. It was always the same answer, varicose veins are just a nuisance, wear compression stockings, and elevate your legs. Four years ago I had a bad episode where my ankle swelled to the point that blood came to the skin surface around my lower leg which has now left me with permanent skin staining. Again, nothing was done. Before I continue, I should say that my symptoms were always a throbbing ache in my leg, a stabbing stinging in my ankle area, fatigued legs, and typical appearance of buldging varicose veins. It was obvious that my HMO did not want to do much about this as this is considered a cosmetic procedure with them even with the problems stated above. I went to Dr. Bressman for help. After evaluation and ultrasound, he told me to go back to my HMO and tell them Dr. Bressman said that you need to get something done with your veins. I thought that was good of him to say that because he was saving me money in trying to get the HMO to help me. I returned to my HMO with that demand and was told that a referral would be sent in for me which I did get. However, it has been a 10 month ordeal in getting anything done. I felt like I had to lobby for everything but they did help me with sclerotherapy and stripping. My primary aching in one area disappeared for awhile, however, it started to ache again. So back to Dr. Bressman I went. Dr. Bressman uses a vein light to detect exactly what is going on under the skin. My HMO never did that. So what happened was that the HMO did not get the entire vein. They only did what could be seen on the surface. So Dr. Bressman corrected this (aching has stopped) as well as other areas that needed continued work and what is also good about Dr. Bressman's office is that in the follow-up, they will puncture treated areas where old blood has collected and drain it rather than wait for the body to absorb it which can take awhile. They told me this provides for a quick and better appearance on the leg. My HMO never provided this treatment. In fact, Dr. Bressman's office punctured and drained areas where the HMO had treated me with sclerotherapy. This was nice of them to do this and I didn't request it. They did it on their own. Dr. Bressman provides very good care, education, and spends time with you. His office staff is very helpful, kind, and always pleasant. I thank them all. P.S. Based on other reviews I am reading here, reviewers should not judge a dr. based on what the billing people do. It is obvious they don't understand billing practices. Reviewing the outsourced billing instead of reviewing Dr. Bressman is totally unfair. read more

Dr Bressman is a skilled and caring surgeon. 6 weeks ago I had endovenous ablation and microphlebectomy on big bulging veins on my leg. Now my leg looks great. I even wore shorts this weekend. On 4-24-2013 Dr. Bressman removed large varicose veins from my left leg. I had also been experiencing "blue ankle" or pooling of blood in the left ankle. I've had a couple of different treatments with Dr. Bressman. I am extremely pleased with the results. He told me....and I certainly understood that things would not be perfect, much better, but not perfect. Well, let me tell you...it IS perfect...perfect to me. I thought I would have to deal with painful and ugly veins for the rest of my life. Not so. My legs are much improved, and I am confident they will only get better with time as my legs and veins continue to heal. Will post some photos if I can figure that out!! p.s. I have an HMO which was going to make me jump thru hoops and only take care of the one large vein that was a medical necessity. Nothing would have been paid for any of the smaller unsightly veins. I had a varicose vein removed about 3 years ago with Dr. Bressman and I had a great experience with no issues. However, a month ago I had my other leg done and at first things seemed to have gone well but I started to develop a very itchy rash from what we thought was the compression stocking. I was told I could take the stocking off at night so I did but the rash kept getting worse. I tried several times over the weekend to call the dr on the phone numbers he supplied on the post op sheet. The office line kept saying message box full and so did his cell number. They said to call anytime. I was finally able to leave a message for him but didn't receive a call back for 6 hours. I was miserable from the rash and explained this to him so he prescribed me over the phone a antibiotic and a steroid. I started taking the two medications and felt very ill. I had an excruciating headache and was very nauseous along with chills and flu like symptoms. I called him and told him how horrible I was feeling and he advised me to keep taking the medications to get rid of the rash. So I did but after feeling even worse than I did before taking the medications I decided to go to the ER. The ER dr said all I had was contact dermatitis and that I did not need an antibiotic or oral steroid. I did not have an infection. She prescribed me a topical steroid cream and told me to take Zyrtec for 14 days. I was also give an IV of fluids and something for my horrible headache. The next day I felt so much better. I am not blaming Dr. Bressman for the allergic reaction that I had or even for prescribing something that was far to strong for contact dermatitis. However I am very disappointed that at my one week post op appointment he was late and his nurse had to do my ultrasound. My one month appointment had to be rescheduled because he will be out of town. He did call to apologize for being late and for having to reschedule but never apologized for what I went through. It felt like he didn't really care since I had already paid him over $3000 as a cash patient. One would think that if a patient of yours had any sort of complication you would make sure to be on time to their appointment. read more

I have suffered with leg pain for probably 8 or 9 years. Being an RN and working 12 hour shifts on my feet, the last 4 or 5 were usually pretty uncomfortable. My primary doctor ordered an ultrasound maybe 5 years ago. The report was inconclusive for the reason for my pain, so I've just lived with it. I finally decided to go to a vascular surgeon. I went on line to research procedures, thankfully they don't do vein stripping anymore. Then I lucked out and found Dr. Bressman. He spent 2 hours with me at my consult and he did his own ultrasound of my legs, seeing exactly what was going on and what needed to be done. He explained it to me and showed it to me as he did the ultrasound, it was obvious my left leg had a big problem. I scheduled the surgery then went home and researched Dr. Bressman's credentials, which are impeccable. I admit I was nervous, but the staff and Dr. Bressman put me at ease. The whole procedure took a little less than 1 hour. I had very minimal pain during the procedure. I was able to walk out and go to lunch after. It really was a breeze!! That was 4/6/15. Today, 4/8/15 my dressings came off. I've needed no pain medication, I'm virtually pain free. I have some bruising but I'm sure it will be gone in a week or so.
