Please stay away at all cost!!! My husband and I hired Joe to sand and lighten the floors of our house. He said that he could get the job done in one week and because of the type of wood in our home it would be better to go darker. Along the way there were some hiccups involving the color of the floor and how the floor would stain, but joe did stay in communication with us. HOWEVER Joe is a yes man. He will yes you the death and then when you aren't satisfied he will say "I don't know what else there is to do." I asked for an even dark finish and many of the panels were different colors as you can see in the picture. I had another independent company and one of Joe's employees come look at the floor. Both stated that some steps were missed. The floors are scratching left and right and we will definitely have to get another company to redo the floors. In the end I paid Joe over $3,000 and said the job was fine because it was too much hassle to get him to take accountability. I waited a month just to see if the color would settle in but it didn't. I called joe one last time to get advice and see if there's anything we could do. His response "this doesn't concern me anymore and of course other companies would tell you the floors look bad." While some parts of the home look beautiful other parts look absolutely awful and with all of the scratches we will definitely need to redo the floors. read more

We called advanced Hardwood Flooring. Joe, the owner came the next day, on time. He explained what he would do, and then gave us an estimate. We hired him and set a date. On the day of our sanding, Joe came, the foreman and two workers. They told my husband what they were going to do and then proceeded to set up. They sanded the floor, vacuumed put a finish on. When I arrived home, they were gone, but my floor was clean with hardly any dust. They came again the next day to finish with the varnish. Again, they cleaned everything. We were impressed. Highly recommend Advanced Hardwood Flooring. I just bought a house and was not a fan of the hardwood floors. They were new but it had a satin finish on it and to be quite honest I didn't fully trust that the work was done correctly. I contacted Joe who picked up the phone right away and was able to fit me in before my move to have my floors refinished. Joe and Steve recommended a gloss water based polyurethane since I did not like the satin. I do not like super glossy floors so I was a little hesitant. Steve offered to do one coat of gloss and if I didn't like it we could go back to the satin. Turns out the gloss was perfect, just what I was looking for. Not too shiny or too dull. Now the best part...the pricing! More than fair. Significantly cheaper out of all the quotes I received. Now I know businesses have to make money but as soon as I feel your going way over or taking advantage it's automatically a thank you but no thank you. We just purchased a house that was built in 1908. When we removed the old carpeting we found well-worn, 107 years-old pine floors (upstairs) and oak floors (downstairs). The floors were in rough shape, so we weren't sure how things would come out. By the time the crew at Advanced were done, the floors looked beautiful. They still have their historic character, but shine like new. These guys also stand by their work. One area of our floors really soaked-up the polyurethane, leaving it duller than the rest of the floor, likely due to the wood being especially dry in that area. [Note that they warned me about this possibility even before starting the work.] I asked about paying for an extra coat of polyurethane in that room. Joe sent his guys back to do another coat of polyurethane at no charge. He wanted me to be happy with the work. Bottom-line: Joe (the owner) and his crew did a great job at a reasonable price. More importantly, they stood by their work and did their best to make sure I would be happy with the final product. I would definitely use them again. read more
