From start to finish, my husband had an excellent experience with advanced hardwood flooring! Joe is great to do business with. Her professional and personable. He came quickly to give us an estimate, and although we had to wait for an opening to redo our floors, he called us when something opened up so we could have our floors done earlier so we could move in sooner! Please stay away at all cost!!! My husband and I hired Joe to sand and lighten the floors of our house. He said that he could get the job done in one week and because of the type of wood in our home it would be better to go darker. Along the way there were some hiccups involving the color of the floor and how the floor would stain, but joe did stay in communication with us. HOWEVER Joe is a yes man. He will yes you the death and then when you aren't satisfied he will say "I don't know what else there is to do." I asked for an even dark finish and many of the panels were different colors as you can see in the picture. I had another independent company and one of Joe's employees come look at the floor. Both stated that some steps were missed. The floors are scratching left and right and we will definitely have to get another company to redo the floors. In the end I paid Joe over $3,000 and said the job was fine because it was too much hassle to get him to take accountability. I waited a month just to see if the color would settle in but it didn't. I called joe one last time to get advice and see if there's anything we could do. His response "this doesn't concern me anymore and of course other companies would tell you the floors look bad." While some parts of the home look beautiful other parts look absolutely awful and with all of the scratches we will definitely need to redo the floors. read more

I love my refinished wood floors! Joe responds to texts, arrives on time, and did a great job with my old wood floors. They are light and natural. It was my first time refinishing wood floors, my advice to anyone would be to cover everything with tarps to control dust from the sanding process. It's so worth it to have beautiful wood floors. read more

We called advanced Hardwood Flooring. Joe, the owner came the next day, on time. He explained what he would do, and then gave us an estimate. We hired him and set a date. On the day of our sanding, Joe came, the foreman and two workers. They told my husband what they were going to do and then proceeded to set up. They sanded the floor, vacuumed put a finish on. When I arrived home, they were gone, but my floor was clean with hardly any dust. They came again the next day to finish with the varnish. Again, they cleaned everything. We were impressed. The quality and workmanship was impeccable. I would recommend this company to anyone. We are going to have Advanced hardwood flooring sand and finish our entire house. Thank you, Joe! read more

Got my floors done a few months back by Joe. His guys Mike and Tony did an awesome job and were focused on the task while being courteous in the house. Job was started Tuesday and we moved bedroom furniture back on Sunday. Use felt pads on everything for the first few weeks. We got the ebony with the satin finish. They installed a beautiful saddle across my newly added fresh doors. Had a minor touch up that Joe made sure he tended to. Thanks Guys! read more

I recently purchased a home and needed the floors refinished. Each room had a different color stain, showed signs of wear, deep scratches from a DIY project gone wrong and animal urine stains. I did what I do for almost everything nowadays. I head to Yelp or Google for reviews. Advanced Hardwood Flooring was at the top of the list with a perfect rating. I called Joe and set up a day to meet for an estimate. On the day of the estimate, Joe was on time and very professional. He gave me a very fair quote and I decided to not look any further and go with Advanced Hardwood Flooring. A week later they started the project, which took 5 days in total. Joe was responsive throughout for the many questions I had for him along the way. The workers were professional and polite. I am very pleased with their work and would definitely use them again. If you're Looking to have your floors refinished, look no further. read more

Look no further for a floor finishing company. Joe Palumbo is a rare combination of craftsman , gentleman and business owner. The price was fair and the workmanship is unparalleled in our experience. His crew were highly skilled and personable. Our floors were damaged in areas, but now look amazing and new. Joe and his men are punctual and efficient, and he is in constant communication throughout the project. We have had our floors worked on by several other companies in the past, but none can compare to the experience of working with this one. Save yourself time and aggravation by calling Advanced Hardwood Flooring first. Thank you Joe, Steve and Darryl. Matt and Barbara read more

Highly recommend Advanced Hardwood Flooring. I just bought a house and was not a fan of the hardwood floors. They were new but it had a satin finish on it and to be quite honest I didn't fully trust that the work was done correctly. I contacted Joe who picked up the phone right away and was able to fit me in before my move to have my floors refinished. Joe and Steve recommended a gloss water based polyurethane since I did not like the satin. I do not like super glossy floors so I was a little hesitant. Steve offered to do one coat of gloss and if I didn't like it we could go back to the satin. Turns out the gloss was perfect, just what I was looking for. Not too shiny or too dull. Now the best part...the pricing! More than fair. Significantly cheaper out of all the quotes I received. Now I know businesses have to make money but as soon as I feel your going way over or taking advantage it's automatically a thank you but no thank you. Happy to support this business and recommend to others. read more

We bought a 1940's built house and Joe and his team at Advanced Hardwood Flooring turned the beat up 75 year old wood floors (which we were thinking might need to be replaced) into looking like shiny smooth almost new beautiful floors. People compliment us all the time on the floors now. We were amazed at how well they were restored. The crew was professional, always on time, keep our house clean and finished on time with results better than expected. Bravo! Thanks, Joe! read more

From my first phone call the Joe until the time he walked out my door, everything was amazing. We just purchased a house that was built in 1908. When we removed the old carpeting we found well-worn, 107 years-old pine floors (upstairs) and oak floors (downstairs). The floors were in rough shape, so we weren't sure how things would come out. By the time the crew at Advanced were done, the floors looked beautiful. They still have their historic character, but shine like new. These guys also stand by their work. One area of our floors really soaked-up the polyurethane, leaving it duller than the rest of the floor, likely due to the wood being especially dry in that area. [Note that they warned me about this possibility even before starting the work.] I asked about paying for an extra coat of polyurethane in that room. Joe sent his guys back to do another coat of polyurethane at no charge. He wanted me to be happy with the work. Bottom-line: Joe (the owner) and his crew did a great job at a reasonable price. More importantly, they stood by their work and did their best to make sure I would be happy with the final product. I would definitely use them again. read more

My wife's co-worker recommended Joe and we are so glad she did. From the time he came over to do the estimate until the time the job was done, it couldn't have been a better experience. He's an honest guy and his team does honest work for an honest price. He explained the 3-day process in detail and provided recommendations based on the job that was going to be done. They were on time each day and finished when expected. We would also like to send out a special thanks to Mike for taking care of a couple of issues with our steps that were unexpected, great work. We would highly recommend Advanced Hardwood Flooring to anyone and thank you Joe and his team for an amazing job. read more

Joe Palumbo is not only a nice guy but a consummate professional. He is sincere in his love for his work and a generational company, which he now proudly represents. He is amazingly responsive...will return an email quickly, no matter when you send it...unheard of nowadays. His team, also a great group of guys, came in and transformed our 58 year old floors into gorgeous, gleaming floors. The follow up is impeccable. I had a concern and Joe took care of it from his vacation out of the country. He sent Mike back and my minor issue was handled with no problem. Joe did an excellent job describing what would need to be done and provided an estimate quickly. He advised us of a few slats that were stained and could probably pass ok, but we decided to replace them. The home was not going to be used for a while so there would be plenty of time to let the oil based polyurethane cure correctly for over 40 days! He and Maria were always responsive to all questions and concerns. read more
