Went thru a few before i decided to go with AE... prices were reasonable almost unbeatable and reviews seem worth a shot. Asked if he would suggest or refer me somewhere to get motor pulled which was rubens auto we set up date which i believe was August 18 . My only issue was that i was quoted 3 weeks for the rebuild instead it took 4 months to get my car back in my possession . Granted ruben recieved it back after 3 n half months. this the slowest slopist and the most recklessly machine shop i have ever used. found trash ,grease and tons of debris in the engine block had to power wash the engine three times after getting it back. also found a brass freeze plug that somehow pressed it self inside the water jacket. i say this because it original had steel freeze plugs in it from factory. we requested specific machining and return of parts which they forgot about. to date its taken over three months and i am still waiting for them to make good on their work!!!!!. beware beware i cannot recommend this shop ... read more

Do not use this machine shop! I learned the lesson the hard way...you get what you pay for. While this shop rebuilds engines for significantly less than surrounding areas, they do not do a good job. He could not even figure out how to stop the oil leaks and blames Ruben's automotive (his partner in engine rebuilds) on the fact that it does not run right. Will not stay running even when warmed up. The seals blew within the first 20 minutes of leaving the shop the first time and then again right after he supposedly fixed them. It ran just fine before the rebuild but for some oil leaks and minor smoking. Now I can't keep it running. He basically told me to go to another shop to fix the problems that he should have fixed. Now I will probably have to spend hundreds of dollars for someone else to fix the problems he caused. I gave him 2 chances to fix the problems which he said he did, but nothing has changed, Please save yourself the headache and find another shop to get your work done. read more
