Went to Advanced in San Jose. Used to love this place. Not anymore. My last visit I went for a cleaning & evaluation. It was a very detailed evaluation. That's where it ends. After discussing the procedures to correct the issues he asked me several times whether I'd like to move forward with a procedure that will cost several thousand dollars. He came off like a used car salesman & myself & family will NEVER return. definitely not impressed with your new dentists. read more

This clinic will not release complete and accurate medical records despite months of requests I have documented in emails. They placed an implant in March of 2024. It failed. They placed a second implant to replace it in December of 2025. I returned for restoration and they insisted on a restoration treatment (root canal and second crown on adjacent tooth that is perfectly healthy) that did not make sense without first taking a new CBCT scan for evaluation. I asked for a new CBCT scan and radiology report from the scan before continuing restoration. I had to wait 4.5 hours in their clinic for them to finally send me the full CBCT scan data after having many reasons as to why they could not give me the full data set. I would not go away so they finally sent a WeTranser. I requested a formal radiology report from the scan, but they would not do this and only sent a treatment plan justification. I then paid for and sent the full CBCT data set to a US board certified maxillofacial radiologist. The findings were 50 % bone loss, which Advanced Cabo Dentistry failed to acknowledge and still will not after reporting this to them. I have requested my complete accurate records from them with no response for well over a month. They finally sent incomplete inaccurate records after I called them with entire procedures ( a failed abutment placement attempt by Dr. Eddie) omitted and also report procedures in the records summary that never took place in the clinic (extraction). I have requested implant ID (necessary for continuing care in another clinic) in a formal written record form and get up close pictures of a sticker on a page in a notebook with handwritten notes. I have no idea if these stickers are related to my implant since there is no formal chart note recording this. I have $1800 sitting in my mouth that I cannot get restored at another clinic without complete accurate info. I will be filing a formal complaint with CONAMED in hopes for resolution. Beware. It appears that the clinic is far less professional since the original owner Dr. Thomas Koty passed away in 2023. read more

I had my first Crown while on vacation. Fortunately we were staying at the Marina which made the appointments close and convenient. I had advised them I was only in Cabo for 5 days and the assured me they could accommodate my schedule for the two day process AND not interfere with my plans to go fishing. They were able to prep me for the crown the first day and able to install it the very next day. Their Lab is directly across in another suite, so they were able to make adjustments to the crown within about 45 minutes. They were very thorough and almost 3 months later no sensitivity or issues with the crown. Thank you again you guys! read more

I went here to get a new retainer made. They had the most advanced x-ray imaging system I've ever seen, which took a 360° scan of my entire head. Very impressive. The staff was great. Very accommodating and friendly. They have their own manufacturing facility onsite. That means that they can make retainers (or crowns or whatever) right there in the building. So, instead of waiting weeks for my retainer, they had it done in fifteen minutes. It was far superior to the one I was going to get in the USA, and cost way less. I wish I lived closer, so I could use them as my regular dentist for my regular cleanings and such. read more

Just got done with an emergency 4+ hr procedure to fix my front tooth, which was broken a day earlier. Making an appointment was a breeze, and I received top care from Dr. Eddie and his assistant Diana - both of them patient, kind and professional. I was impressed with this experience from top-to-bottom, and would not hesitate to recommend this office to others. Going to another country to get any kind of procedure is always something that feels a little scary but I am so glad the research I did led me to choose Advanced Cabo Dentistry. Their positive reputation was proven out as soon as I contacted them. A very polite person responded via live chat and I made an appointment that afternoon! The offices are very clean and professional. The staff is amazing (friendly and supportive) and are fluent in English (for those who don't speak Spanish yet). Here's my update.I had this Clinic make a upper denture for me and two implants.Several, after several months in use both procedures failed. Denture split in half and both, I repeat both of the implants are loose.I attempted to send the denture in for a repair given the address by Advanced Staff only to find out that they,Advanced did not have the correct paperwork filed to receive something through Customs. I then was given a second address to ship my denture to in Southern California, not Cabo...Someone would then walk my appliance across the Border and drive it to Cabo. W T F is this ? They have completely left the "room" .. I can't in good conscience send/refer anyone to these guy's.Oh ya they offer free transport to and from the airport, ya right they forgot about us...I forgot the new "rebuilt/fixed ? denture broke within weeks.Stay away from these guy's... read more

Update: The previous review was actually from February this year and was inadvertently not posted . I just got back one week ago and had my implants finished and they are great! Aaron ,Enrique, Benjamin and Mariana all coordinated everything while I was in the states and everything went extremely smooth. I even went to their new office in Cabo San Lucas. State of the art! I was so impressed with their care. Dr Jesus did my work and did an amazing job! He is a true Perfectionist! Dr Ayala, installed an implant in less than 10 minutes and without any pain! I will be back in December or January for the last crown. I will also enjoy going whale watching and laying in the sun during our next winter season I truly love this place! Summary of my experience: really bad prep for crowns, does not own up to mistakes, does not treat abscesses. Went to Dr Koty over a year ago with pain in lower pre-molars. He persuaded me that he's a very good dentist and suggested bite adjustment. The preparation of molars and pre molars was too deep and 5 of 8 nerves were exposed (the x-ray photo shows one tooth with this). He also injured my jaw joint with opening my mouth too wide. Instead of admitting the problem with the prep, he insisted that I wear temporaries for 2-3 weeks "to get the bite into correct position". The pain from injured jaw and exposed roots was insane but he guaranteed that it would subside. Of course it became worse. Over these weeks I also got infection into my open wounds. When I arrived with my cheek swollen, hot, and abscesses in the gums below the teeth, Dr Koty said that I grind my teeth so it's a problem with pressure. To solve my swollen and abscessed mouth he advised to get Botox injection into my facial muscles to relax them. Conveniently, there is a medical nurse who comes into his office for medical Botox. I could not think from all the pain any more, so I agreed. The nurse injected Botox into my swollen cheek (she was concerned about the swelling, but Dr Koty said to go ahead). Over the next few days my cheek became extremely swollen; swelling and heat spread over my right side of the face to the back of my neck, and I finally did the right thing: I was admitted to emergency department at a hospital, went through two rounds of antibiotics, got my teeth pain free (apparently the only thing that was needed was a special paste that covered up dentin and nerves!!). I did not return further calls from his office - ignoring my spreading infection was the last straw, I did not trust him with any further work. Then I spent the next three months in California at an experienced and compassionate endodontist specialising in micro surgery to fix Dr Katy's invasion into my teeth. My jaw injury required physio therapy and was fixed just recently. I'm still working on fixing my bite. My opinion is that Dr Koty is an excellent salesman, has new equipment, and potentially a very narrow specialty: cleaning and bridges. Just beware if you go to him with anything else. read more

Hi there; I was picked up at the front door of my hotel by David, a friendly gentleman  (advanced Clinic driver) and he drove me over to the clinic. We were greeted by Dr Thomas Koty and team. I was not the only patient at the reception, After filling out the paperwork I was introduced to Dr Nelly, an expert on Implants and dentistry. I felt I was in good hands,  she took my X'Rays and explained to me what needed to be done. Staff members wear masks and take all the Covid measures. The clinic has state of the art equipment. On the way back, David the driver took me to the closest pharmacy to pick up some prescriptions. My appointment was at 9am by noon I was back to the hotel, resting and back having fun in Cabo. I am a retired Dentist from New Mexico. Since I moved to Arizona a few years after retiring, I no longer had use of my old office to work on my wife's teeth, or have the new Dentist work on my teeth, so I needed to get situated with a Dentist. Since we own a condo in San Jose del Cabo, and had seen Dr. Koty's ad in the Gringo Gazette, we decided to make an appointment. When I go into a medical or dental office I am evaluating the personnel, equipment, the cleanliness and the bedside manner of the Doctor. After arriving my wife and I were greeted as we walked in. Dr. Koty happened to be in the waiting room and he personally welcomed us to his office. The first thing done was to take a panographic x-ray. It was one of the most clear and readable x-rays I have seen (as good or better than many I have seen in the US). Then we went into the exam room. Again, I was impressed with his equipment, all up to date. After examining my teeth, he discussed what my options were and why. After telling Dr. Koty that I was a retired Dentist, he was happy to give me a tour of his office and onsite lab. Dental costs in the USA have soared, so we were seeking cost saving ways to get our teeth fixed. Advanced Cabo Dentistry saved the day, and our teeth. State of the art equipment is used from the X-rays to their own superior in -house lab. We were impressed with the great deal of care that went into the replacement of a few crowns. (They matched colors, bite, and the replacement was so exact that it fit my retainer!) Every person in the office from reception to lab techs were personable, caring, and professional. Dr. Koty is always there and consults with you each step of the way. We were not expecting such superior service! We began on a Monday morning, and on Friday, we had new teeth. My husband had an excellent experience at this clinic, which we highly recommend. Last December, he received three implants from the very gifted Dr. Koty, plus two zirconia crowns, and 6 porcelain veneers. We return this year for three crowns-over-implants. Before booking with Dr. Koty, we researched Dr. Koty's experience, and the quality of his implants. In addition, my husband's long-time dentist (in Los Angeles), obtained information about the Clinic, and approved our choice. Within minutes of receiving his implants, my husband and I could check their placement, thanks to Dr. Koty's advanced CAD/CAM 3-D equipment. I just returned from Los Cabos, Mexico after having three crowns placed on implant posts and can highly recommend this dental practice. After having bone grafts and dental implants done where I live in California I was not happy with the price quote I was given for the three crowns needed to complete the work (approximately $9,000). I contacted Advanced Cabo Dentistry (ACD) through their US phone number and was able to easily make an appointment and arrange to do the three crowns during a week long vacation in Los Cabos. I was able to send my records and xrays to ACD to avoid expense of additional xrays and get a pre arrival assurance that they could make and install the crowns. Their lab is in house and can be visited while there. Dr Thomas Koty, the owner and primary dentist was on vacation when we arrived and my work was done by Dr David Ojeda. He was very professional, explained the procedure fully and was extremely precise in his work. He even had the lab remake one crown that he did not feel fit quite right. After almost a week back home with the crowns installed everything is great. Dr Koty arrived during my final check up and assured me he had reviewed my file before our arrival and assigned Dr Ojeda to do the job. Coincidentally, I ran into a former work colleague while at the ACD office in Cabo. Her husband had broken a tooth while in Cabo and was able to get an appointment and get the tooth repaired in a couple of visits. He was also very pleased with the results as was another young woman from Arizona we met in the lobby who had a crown installed while vacationing in Cabo. According to the office staff over 95% of ACD's patients are people from outside Mexico who come to ACD for crowns, bridges, implants, veneers, caps and other cosmetic procedures. By the way, what the those $9,000 made in USA crowns would have cost me I paid $2400 total for at Advanced Cabo Dentistry. I am a happy dental tourist. read more
