Advance has done work for us on two occasions. The first time they removed a large shrub efficiently and without any damage to surrounding plants. The second time was also for shrub removal. It was a much bigger job. It, too, was carried out efficiently and without incident. We recommend them to any homeowner who wants quality work done. read more

Would not recommend this company. I hired Advance Lawn Care to repair some paving work at my home. I received a quote and agreed to have them do the work. The work was completed, which was okay, except for the fact they had a young girl trying to back up a truckload of limestone, so she drove on the lawn, gunned it, and tore up the lawn. She admitted to me she did it and was not careful when trying to maneuver the truck. They did put grass seed down, but did not fill in the ruts it caused. The biggest issue, though, was after the work was completed, I called the man who gave me the quote to ask him if I would receive a bill or what. I received a call back from that man several hours later, and he told me he did not calculate the job correctly, and there were more additional labor hours completed than what he quoted. He told me now the bill was almost $1000 more than his quote. I told the man that when they saw that the job was maybe going to take additional labor hours than quoted, they should have immediately notified me, the customer, to advise the same. You cannot just charge someone almost $1000 more for a job. I have now heard similar stories about this company pulling these stunts. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE OVERCHARGED!!!!!! Otherwise I would have rated 0 stars. read more

I was in the unfortunate position of being about 30 yards behind one of Advance Lawn Service's trucks headed north out of Milwaukee the other day. At about 60-65 miles an hour I heard a loud crack as one of the stones in the truck flew out and cracked my windshield, The truck had no warning sign on the back, no tarp covering the gravel and it was loaded to a peck above the tailgate. I had to have the windshield replaced. I called and spoke to the owner, Austin, and he said he was sorry but he would not reimburse me for my $250.00 deductible. He said this was not his responsibility. He then told me he delivers all over the Milwaukee area and this happens all the time and he can't pay for these damages. I asked him if he heard what he just said. He said it was not his responsibility and then hung up. Great business model - Hit 'em and run. If you see an Advance Lawn Service truck - RUN. read more

Poor communication, poor workmanship, does not honor warranty, blames you for issues. Stay away!

Very, very bad customer service. It's like dealing with children, in fact, I think the people answering the phones are children. They quote prices, but leave out important facts, such as, so much per hour, but leave out they will send 3 men for that hour and charge hourly for EACH man. Never return phone calls. Owner is hot-headed and unreasonable. Do yourself a favor and find a different company. read more

By far the worst service I've ever recieved, start to finish. Scheduling is a nightmare, never recieved call backs, despite promises to do so, constantly told I would be called when they make the weekly schedule. I had to call and ask constantly. Emails were never responded to until I complained and then Bill sent me a very sarcastic email blaming me for everything that I was complaining about. Never spoken to "the head of the company" who was this hot-headed, angry and nasty with customers. read more

I have used Advance Lawn Service for many years. I live out of state and have a vacant lot in Hartford. I needed help keeping the lot maintained and Advance Lawn Service has kept the grass mowed and looking good since 2011. I use Advance Lawn Service to reliably and consistently do the job and they've earned my trust. I always get great customer service from the office staff and would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who needs quality lawn maintenance for their property. read more

I have used many lawn care services and this company is by far the most unprofessional and unorganized. Never recieved any word on when they were coming, constantly told I was being "put on the schedule" with no call back. When I called to ask again, Bill was already irritated, instantly insulted me and held zero accountability, blaming me for everything that happened and offering no solution. I have worked in customer service for years and would never dream of talking to a customer that way. I hired this company because of their high rating and I honestly have no clue how they got it. read more

Found them on Yelp so am reviewing them here. The first time I requested a quote and they came and actually did the work. Ok, it seemed decent so I paid them. Wanted another service about a month later while I was on vacation. Despite a verbal confirmation, several email attempts to remind them and voicemails while I was out of town they never showed. So, we asked them to return 3 weeks later. They said they would while we were out of town again. Sent them a diagram of what we wanted done. It included stone and berm weeding. Austin assured me they could do it but it would cost more. Called them mid week to make sure they would do this. The receptionist said the wouldn't be able to do gravel or berms and Austin had no recollection of our conversation. Asked them to do what they could and she said we weren't in the schedule. I wanted to love this local business but it was a huge fail. read more

Last summer was my first experience with Advanced, my lawn was okay but definitely struggling before I had their help. I'm thrilled with how much better my lawn looked after just a few visits. They also gave me plenty of info on how to keep the rest of my yard looking healthy, all around great company for anything around the house! Going to give them a call about landscaping this spring. read more
