We had the convenience of having the payment automatically debited each month, or with online access we were able to move to funds from checking to the loan account and pay it that way. It has been easy to pay and pretty easy to get a loan there. Their location is close to shopping and restaurants, making it a convenient choice when you need to stop at the ATM or deposit a check on the go. Speaking of ATMs and deposits, you have access to over 30,000 nationwide ATMS free of charge, including other credit unions. If you opt for the GFCU app, you are able to do a mobile deposit with ease. I…read moreunderstand and respect that it is the banks policy to request identification when completing a cash deposit. However, the way this policy is applied appears inconsistent. On multiple occasions when I have made deposits at this branch, I have been asked for identification most of the time, but not every time. Because of this inconsistency, I began paying closer attention to how the policy was applied. I had a coworker make sever similar large cash deposits, and they were not asked to provide identification. When I later returned to make a smaller deposit, I was again asked to provide my ID. The inconsistent application of this policy raises concerns and creates the impression that customers may be treated differently. I believe it would be beneficial for the branch to apply policies consistently to all customers regardless of race or religion to ensure a professional and fair banking experience.

We were with this group for many years and even in a time of unprecedented economic growth, we ended up leaving with far less than we'd started with. Additionally, a substantial portion of our assets are now stuck in a garbage real estate fund that sank so quickly that the owner (Bluerock) will not let us sell the thousands of shares this advisor stuck us with, leaving many tens of thousands of dollars in some sort of mutual fund prison with no timetable for getting out. No transparency here, about as much accountability & less than acceptable communication. They're not interested in securing or growing your financial assets for your benefit.
