I would give negative stars if I could. DO NOT USE ADT. There are far too many other great alarm companies to go with nowadays with actual customer service. We had a house fire in 2023 and had to use ADT because at the time they were the only company that would use our existing hard-wired system combined with wireless sensors for the areas that were damaged. Since DAY ONE we have had issues with the panels, the sensors, the entire system. We have had probably 5-6 false alarms (always at 1am). The panels beep for no reason, they light up at night for no reason. Our WIFI has been out for a few days and this system is SUPPOSED to be backed up to work without WIFI to "keep your home safe." Bullcrap. The panels reset and beeped all night long until my husband finally ripped them out of the wall out of frustration. That is another gripe, the panels are SOOOO not user friendly. To do anything you have to dig 3 pages deep. We tried resetting it, looking for anything that would say "shut the hell up, it's 1 am." Ripping it out of the wall seemed totally justified and the only option we had at the time in order to actually get some sleep. Every single time I need to talk to someone in customer service, they give you the run around, repeat what you said to them 4 times, and ultimately the call just gets disconnected. You call back, wait on hold for :20 and go through the same thing all over again. read more

For the past 3 years, we have had several issues with ADT. I called ADT and they sent over RONALD, the best technician we have ever had. Ronald rewired our ADT box, took out all old equipment, and our service is now PERFECT. I will also write a letter to the company, but wanted all of you to know that Ronald is the very best technician, and if you are lucky enough to get him to review your system, you will be in good hands. It really helps that he was an electrician first, then went to work for ADT. read more

To whom this may concern, don't ever choose ADT home security Srvcs for your home, my camera over the garage has been going offline for weeks now and they won't send anyone out to fix it, and they want me to pay for the stupid camera and it's there equipment, what kind of cramp is that! Also batteries went out on my motion detector a while back and they made me buy my own battery and fix the dam thing myself, don't ever choose this company, they will rip you off just thought I'd tell people before they choose this company read more

We terminated service months ago. Found lower price. Recently alarm went off in middle of night, shrieking and screaming. Called ADT because it would not stop. Guy said no contract but equipment never removed nor shut off. Meanwhile alarm still making ear splitting racket. I asked for help, he got impatient with my inability to climb ladder in closet to get to equipment they left and ....he hung up on me. Disgusting and rude way to treat anyone. read more

Do not do business with Bill David, sales rep at ADT in Corpus Christi. They are dishonest and will do and say anything to get a sale. Stay away. read more

I purchased a outside/flood light system in April for $1395. The salesman Joe Gutierrez was rude and verbally unprofessional. The installer they sent determined the system wouldn't work on my roof design so I returned all equipment still in the boxes on April 20th. They have refused to return all my money due back as of this month of June. I have made numerous calls in regards to my credit and have spoken to many representatives to include so called supervisors. Stay away from this company and above all Joe Gutierrez. read more

I signed up with ADT in 2015, and after over 5 yrs of being a loyal customer I decided to add a camera to my monitoring system. KEEP IN MIND- My initial 3 yr contract period was completed in 2018. I was on a month to month schedule, no longer under contract. Since the day the camera was installed I have had numerous issues with it not displaying anything, requiring me to call in to ADT many times, and I have also taken time off from work to meet a tech at home. After over 3 visits and repair attempts the camera is STILL not working. No matter what the techs try, it will not correct the issue, the camera isn't currently working again since April 2nd, today is April 11th. I have asked the service supervisor, Ken Arceneaux, to cancel my service but he nor any manager at ADT customer service will let me out of a 3 year contract I renewed when I got the camera added. They want me to cancel the camera part of the contract but force me to keep the monitoring portion for the remaining 2.5 yrs! But as mentioned, I already completed an initial 3 yr contract from 2015 - 2018! I have been advised by ADT's 'customer service' that I will be charged $779, which is the remaining part of my contract payments, if I cancel. This is unfair, evil, and sinister business practices by ADT, and I strongly urge anyone looking at a home security system to stay away from ADT and go with another company, or Ring type of monitoring. The customer service Reps all refused to cancel my service, they kept kicking me from one person, who would also say they were "not authorized" to cancel my contract. It has been an eye opening experience. ADT is one of the most well known security systems in the US. To kick me around, refusing to help me, refusing to acknowledge my situation at any cost, to avoid a cancelation by ignoring my truths and punting from person to another, shows a disgusting side of ADT, not the company I thought I signed up with. Perhaps there is a desperation to keep a customer on contract due to the many other security monitoring systems alternatives now available to consumers. This is no way to try and keep our business. It is a sure way to ensure you lose it, never regain it, and persuade me to tell anyone that will listen to stay far away from ADT. read more

Terrible customer service from the local and corporate office. My alarm has been going off several times a day for over the last 6-8 weeks. I was told that they are transitioning from 4G to 5G with Verizon. I was told this by the technician that came to my house. The problem has not been resolved yet and my alarm keeps going off sporadically several times a day and during the night. All the technician told me when he came to my house was how to turn off the alarm, which was not a simple thing to do. I would have to get a screwdriver to pop the cover off and disconnect a wire. I should not have to do this. I called the corporate office, and they had the nerve to tell me to call Verizon wireless to see when the problem would be resolved. It is not my job to call anybody. It is ADT's responsibility to follow up on why my alarm system is not working properly and to have the problem resolved/fixed. Apparently they have no idea when the problem will be resolved. That's unacceptable.I was also informed, that when the alarm does go off, with the (103 communication error) it's not communicating with ADT's call center, which means the police would not be dispatched. This has been going on long enough. I informed the corporate office today that I know longer want the ADT services/cancel. read more

The system does not work properly but they painted an easy picture to get you to sign a contract from the get go. I wanted to cancel but quoted $800 to terminate contract. I can't secure my household as advertised on my phone, issues with the equipment and wifi, and yet they can't terminate without cost because "it's not documented." I would not recommend whatsoever!! Customer service lady got an attitude when I called. read more

I've used ADT for over 3 years for my business. We recently had to replace our router and ADT wants to charge me $95 an hour to have a tech come and connect our cameras. I already pay $150 a month which includes an extra charge for service. They claim a router change isn't service. DO NOT USE THEM! Like the other reviewer states, they make all kinds of promises to sign you up but don't honor any of them. This service is the biggest rip off. You've been warned. read more
