I suggest people look twice at their accounts when they decide to cancel ADT securities. I recently had an amount $46.45 taken out of my account from ADT security 4 months after I cancelled my contract with them. They retain your Account details and If the person you are cancelling your account with does not follow through on cancellation, your direct debit can be reinstated even after 4 months of being cancelled and then the staff are not helpful.. They will not return the funds in a timely manner- it can take over 5 working business days depending on when they action the refund adn you also have to go through 2 hours of arguing on the phone to get them to refund the amount- in other words- get cancellation of your contract with ADT in writing and also state in an email that you want your account details to be removed from their database to ensure they do not reinstate direct debit- they are very nasty on the phone if you insist on doing this, but for peace of mind I suggest it be done- I would not go with ADT again, they have hidden costs and when I signed up with them, they did not tell me I needed a Electrician to set up a plug for the monitoring device to work, needs to be plugged in- another cost they did not tell me I had to incur, and was not part of the very expensive costs of set up... I suggest looking at another provided or set up a security system you can manage via mobile phone, there are plenty out there read more
