Working with West Island Kitchen (Cuisines West Island) was a great experience and the result speaks for itself. My wife and I were referred to Derrick and Gemma by friends who had worked with them on a much smaller project and had a great experience. My wife and I have no experience with renovations and have no eye for design, so we decided to give them a try. The process could not have been easier. Derrick took our priorities into account and even found excellent compromises when my wife and I disagreed about a few specific elements. The design he created was amazing - beyond functional and (as you can see) beautiful. Gemma has a great eye for aesthetics and walked us through a marathon session of selecting colours, paints, countertops, tiles, etc while our 1-year-old did his best to destroy their showroom. My personal hell would consist solely of mixing and matching nearly identical colours, but Gemma and Derrick made it (dare I say) tolerable. My wife and I love cooking, but it became such a chore when we moved into our new house with a non-functional kitchen. Our new kitchen has been up and running for about 1 month and cooking has become a pleasure again. We just hosted my in-laws for a week, which included cooking 6 straight dinners for 9 people, and it could not have been more enjoyable (strictly speaking about the cooking aspect, of course). Everything is in the right place, the flow between focal points feels natural, and the workspaces are comfortable. Oh yeah, it also looks nice. I cannot recommend West Island Kitchens enough.

From our first visit to the showroom, we were impressed, not just by the beautiful workmanship and materials, but by the attitude of owner Derrick Bourdages. He wanted to know how we imagined the kitchen, what look and feel we were going for. The very next day, before we had signed on, he visited us with some suggestions, and to see the style of our house and decor. The consultations about materials were all fun and very informative, and we even paid a visit to Derrick's factory to see the scale of his operation. The company has great suppliers, so choices are ample. Derrick was very present during the work, so we always felt well looked after. We love our new kitchen! You won't go wrong with this company.

In july 2022 i was looking for a contractor to renovate my kitchen and i found KSI. They told me…read morethat i have to give them a deposit to come measure and make the design in spite that their design is "free". At the beginning they promised me that they can make my kitchen at certain date then they changed the date. Anyway ate the end I found another contractor. Then i asked KSI to return my money because the only thing they did is the design which is free which they refused. In spite that based on our contract that they keep the deposit which i can use for another project this is absolutely illegal in Quebec. So this year july 2025 I had to renovate my bathroom and i saw on their site that they do vanity so i contact Teresa and decide to order my medicine cabinet, bathroom vanity, a sink, a faucet, handles at KSI. I new that the installation is not included but because i thought that the assembling is included i paid for the deliver. And the date I have to receive them was July 9th. This is what i get like a service: -the deliver was done 4 weeks later -the handles and the faucet are missing -the medicine cabinet (pharmacy) is actually with the size of a kitchen cabinet, -the cabinets were not assembled -the vanity has a problem with one door that cannot be aligned. After i contact them, I got nothing but just extra screaming on the phone which is actually their ways of helping me. Teresa tried to convince me that none of these is their fault. So I would advice you to stay away from this company if you can

The representative suggested not installing the handles, claiming it would look better and save "time and money" -- but this was only for him, not for me, as I had already paid for the handles. When I asked for my handles, he demanded an extra payment, which I refused, explaining that I had already paid. I consider this behavior dishonest and unprofessional. I strongly advise against doing business with him and recommend staying away from this company.
