The Adonis Cabaret Show was a very poor show. Poorly choreographed, with no dancing, merely one topless man standing and walking awkwardly around stage for three or four songs, then pouring baby oil down his pants for a while (which made him look like he'd wet himself), then standing behind a screen and slinging his schlong around (which we suspect had a strap-on extension). This 'routine' was repeated three times with three different men, and it did not become more alluring.
This was not a sexy show. There was no real artistic stripping, only the guy turning around, shrugging his jeans off as fast and as awkwardly as possible (one of the men got his jeans stuck round his ankle and did 'the hop'), doing a couple of hip thrusts and then turning back round to pour some assortment of liquid on himself. We all oddly felt like we were staring at some vain drunk man randomly stripping in the middle of club.
This was not as advertised. Our hen party paid £36.20 each to see the "leading firm in the world of male stripping", as advertised on their website, so we expected good male dancers to put on a show, with thought out routines. We expected the drag queen to do a few minutes within the two hour show to link the acts together. Instead, the drag queen took up over an hour of the show, taking half an hour of our time doing a raffle that would have been best suited to the interval, and the rest of the time quoting jokes we'd heard a thousand times before, then asking us to cheer for her.
There are many shows out there that are ten times the quality of this one, that do not rely solely on the hens being blind drunk. 'Dreamboys' is supposed to be a genuinely fantastic show, and hen parties would do well to book that show, and not waste their money on this one. read more
