With the new menu we thought we'd give them another chance and glad we did! We had a roast yesterday and it was delicious - lots of vegetables, loads of meat and a nice option for my vegetarian husband. We shared a pudding (brownie and honeycombe ice cream) and it was one of the nicest things ever! I wanted another one immediately but controlled myself :) Lovely staff and good table service. Obviously this proved very popular and the weather held out! This pub has a real village feel. Very friendly people and the bar staff don't bite either. On this visit it was so packed that the landlord told me they were going through a barrel of Real ale every hour! They have a sizeable garden with those gas heaters that help global warming! In here I have eaten the best roast dinner I have ever tasted. On Sunday I think they only serve roast dinners and you won't be disappointed. I am also a fan of their bangers and mash range. A wide range of fancy flavoured sausages with a choice of mash types and gravy options. I am in heaven!!!! Other friends have eaten the fish dishes here and burgers and everything is really good quality. The perfect place to hang out for a drink. Try out the quiz (on a Monday I think), listen to live music (Friday and Saturdays I believe). The music isn't too loud so you can't hear yourself speak, just a good atmosphere. If you are looking for Crabbies or Kopperberg like me you might be disappointed to hear it's not sold here, but it's good to see a pub offering something different. The bar staff are great and super friendly and the whole place has a laid back and relaxed vibe.
