I lived directly behind this place and after a year I popped inn I regret not going sooner. I didn't have an appointment got a chair right away and a fine individual named Qui cut my hair and it was great. When I got home my wife even said, "wow. I really like it. It's a great." I've been to a lot of barbers in LA and Qui wins the best haircut I ever go award. Thanks! read more

Great employees, always very nice and cheerful. Can get crowded, but they do a great cut. Can make reservations if you like. Highly recommended. read more

Adolph’s Barber Shop - Always a good cut at Adolph's Barber Shop. Busy morning but w Orth the wait. All the stylists are always smiling. - Barbers Near Me - Monrovia, California

You must come to this barbershop because MILTON made me look really sick and he was patient and had the vision fixed my hair. Thanks to him for making me feel brand new again. Come and ask for milton read more

Nice cut, nice price. Close to home. I couldn't ask for more. I need at least 85 characters so here you go.

My sons have gotten cuts from two of the barbers. Both delivered great looking low tapers and high taper fades. Adolph's keeps up with the new generational vibe. read more

My previous experiences at Adolph's have always been pleasant and I've been satisfied with the haircut. Today, I didn't even get the haircut. The barber was rude and judged the requested hairstyle resulting in me walking out. Shame. read more

I walked into the shop yesterday based on the great Yelp reviews. There was a man and woman cutting hair, and a man in the back, behind a partition, cutting hair. Get the picture? Three employees, three customers. I walked in and noticed it was not very tidy, but okay, times are tough. I asked if they accepted walk ins and the older man nodded his head. For the next 15 minutes, no one, the employees or the customers, made a sound. Not a word. I wondered if maybe there was a guy robbing the place and they were afraid. I mean, what kind of weird dynamic that six people in the middle of the day are all together and none of them are talking? I could only hear the snip of scissors. Nothing more. I took a call outside and looked back and realized that no one asked my name, or even said one single word. There were no signs posted with prices, nothing. I saw the red flags more clearly and drove away. I wonder if they even noticed. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!Absolutely messed up my hair up. Saw this spot wasn't to far. Pulled up and asked for a couple inches off the top and a medium fade. This barber if you could call him that absolutely destroyed my hair. gave me a super high fade and butchered the top I'll be wearing hats for the next few months until my hair can grow out and I can get it fixed. read more

My go to place always. Miguel is my go to, but all the staff is great and friendly. Thanks for always keeping me high & tight!

There's a nice elderly Mexican lady who cuts well. Came back for a second round n she wasn't there, asked an elderly Asian man for the same cut just shorter, gave me a buzz and did the proportions terribly. Nice shop vibe but don't go to the Asian guy. Didn't even apologize n shit, just told me my instructions were unclear. Buddy was blind as hell read more

Today is my husbands birthday and he needed a haircut BAD! I couldn't find a good barber or something that he feels comfortable in. I found this shop and they made him look GOOD! I would highly recommend coming here...we will be back! Thank you guys! read more

After cutting my hair for myself since the pandemic began, I felt it was time for it to get an expert touch. I have lived in Monrovia for 2 years now and I have passed by Adolph's barber shop many times. Today I went in and Miguel cut my hair and did my beard. He paid attention to detail unlike my crappy haircut techniques I usually do. He did my beard with a razor and you know you got a good cut when you almost fall asleep. At the end, the cut left me very satisfied and I gave Miguel a 20% tip. There is an ATM machine inside. You may as well get extra cash to do the self car wash next to the shop. I finally found a barber shop in the SGV area. read more

Went to the shop thirty minutes early before shop opens up, just to be told to wait thirty minutes more because he had three other people ahead of me . I've been going for about two month's and it's been first come first serve . And now all of a sudden it's by appointment . The older gentleman was rude and inconsiderate and was being difficult to even speak to him. But Thanks to him I found a new barber shop, read more

Asked for a bit off the sides and a bit off the top and gave me a buzz cut never going again messed me up heavily smh‍

4 stars. Traditional-style barber shop. Miguel makes great conversation and does a neat job on the cut. Will use shaving cream and a razor blade to trim your neck and sideburns. The other two barbers ( The two-seat shop is a bit run-down in contrast to Miguel's prior shop to the LCD TV hanging from up high, but it's clean and there are about six or seven chairs for those who wait, as well as plenty of magazines to entertain you while you wait. The majority of the clientele appears to be middle-age and beyond, but you never know who will walk through the door and everyone receives proper attention. The wait can be quite long, which only goes to say that proper time is taken for every customer, but if there are 5 people ahead of you, that can be a good hour-and-a-half wait. Men's regular cut (don't know if they do anything else): $12, before tips. Verdict: no Vidal Sasson or Fabio-types here. A typical neighborhood barber shop, with a friendly barber who's good at his trade. read more

Great place to go, I would recommend not letting the woman cut your hair. I did once and absolutely regretted it. Sergio is my guy though. Always a good cut. No matter who you go with here, prepare to wait if you don't have an appt and it's like $35 now after covid. read more

I got the single worst haircut of my life. And no, I'm not exaggerating. I had the misfortune of arriving when all the other barbers went on lunch break and I was stuck with the female barber (can't remember her name). I requested a 3 on the sides and a slight trim on top. She seemed a bit timid at first but quickly picked up the pace. When she got to the top, she said, "I'll just shorten a few strands in front." I immediately told her that wouldn't be enough and that I'd prefer a bit more off the top. What did she do? She started cutting like crazy and she had my back facing the mirror so I had no idea what she was doing. By the time she was done, I was appalled when she handed me the mirror and it literally looked like someone had taken a chunk out of the left front side of my hair. To make matters worse, she told me to simply comb my hair in the opposite direction of how I normally have it. Are you kidding me? Anyways, moving on... I noticed a patch of hair that seemed longer than the rest so I asked her to please trim that part. In fact, I asked her three times but she wouldn't do it; instead, she reasoned that it wouldn't look good. Well, sure enough, she was wrong once my hair dried later that day and I noticed a patch of my hair was flaring outward like someone had fed a single part of my head with miracle growth that made it stand up taller than all the rest. The final result: the haircut was asymmetrical (one side longer than the other), I'm missing a patch of hair on the front of my head, and I'm stuck with this haircut for my upcoming wedding. read more

This is a solid spot. You get a quality cut at a decent price, and they do walk-ins. It can get busy, especially on Fridays and weekends, so you want to make sure you come as early as possible. There's plenty of parking available, lots of seats, and they usually have a TV on in the background. All the barbers are cool guys and are always looking to provide the best service possible. It's close to my apartment, so it's become my new regular spot. read more

Just a heads up that they got a new location because i was previously lost trying to find this place. It's on the same block but a little closer to Santa Anita. Around 21-25$ for a decent haircut. Extra for a fade or taper. Would recommend if you need something clean and it's always a good convo with the young barber. read more

Went in for a Crew cut as I was recommended to this place. I show the older gentlemen a picture of the crew cut style I wanted. He said that the picture I was showing him was not a crew cut. I had asked him to do what I had shown him. Instead he gave me a Buzz Cut. Same size all the way around. I was unable to style it at all. Honestly I could have stayed home and buzzed it with clippers myself. I also asked that he would taper the sides, and it seems as though he doesn't know how to do so. I will never return here again. Very unsatisfactory. When I told him that he gave me a buzz cut he argued and stated that it was a crew cut. All though it looks nothing like the picture I showed him. read more

Great barbershop! Chris and Sergio are the best. Everytime I come I see regulars which is a reflection of the great quality and service. It can be hard to find a go to shop, but these guys are the real deal. Come check it out . PS. The shop moved just a few building down into a new location, just in case you can't find it. read more

I have been coming to the shop since 2014 when they were a few doors down in the triangle unit. Sergio, Maria, and Miguel have been there the longest and are always super nice. Jose is my go-to guy and always does a nice job of conversation and being efficient in his cuts. He remembers the conversations we had months ago, which I really like. Prices have increased substantially since COVID-19 so be prepared to bring double the cash you normally would bring. Wait times can be 1.5 hours long at peak but sometimes it's completely empty. They do have appointments for a few extra dollars as well. You get the straight-edge razor trim at the end and a splash of aftershave. read more

So the search continues to find a regular barber. Decided to give Adolph's a try, since it's right by my house. Street parking off Duarte. The street's fairly wide. Not busy at all, so at least I don't have to parallel park. Because that's how I roll. There's 3 barbers on-hand, two guys and a lady. Three stations. AC was on, great for a hot day as today. There were no one else there until I was about to leave (around 3pm), but if there's a waiting line, there are these movie theater seats there, which I found rather amusing. A TV is mounted to the wall (playing KCAL9 news), though while I had my hair cut, I wasn't facing it. Guess it's not for customers. The lady cut my hair. Sorry, didn't catch the name. None of us didn't really talk at all while I was there. Told her I wanted the "regular cut" and off she went. Majority of the time was with the clippers, with scissors to layer out the top. There's also a little bit of water spray action here as well, which I first experienced while at Great Clips (http://www.yelp.com/biz/great-clips-monrovia#hrid:RLJL54w-7uWxy9tRhNixXg). Is this a standard practice and I'm just simply unaware? Afterwards, she gets some shaving cream and shaves off the bottom sides and back, then puts a bit of aftershave, which I thought were nice touches. Price for a regular cut is $14, which I think is a bit pricey. I was in and out within half an hour. Small restroom in the back, that doubles as a storage area. Very cool experience. I'll continue my search for a regular barber, but at least I know there's a place by my house I can go to. read more

I was getting shaggy and starting to look like Rod Blagojevich, so when I spotted Adolph's I pulled over to give it a try and get a cut. Tony ended up giving me a great cut, complete with the straight razor touch up, all for 13 bucks. You can't beat that eh? Side note: A full straight razor shave runs you $12, so you can go get a cut and a shave for $25. Good shop read more

Miguel is the Man! Best old skool taper around. I drive 30 miles to get my cut here. They have a good crew and spacious shop. Open 7 days a week. read more

This is my regular barber shop to go to. It's a short walk over from my place and on a big street that makes it really accessible. There is plenty of street parking available as well as a parking lot in the back. This place has some TVs so if you come by and there is a wait (which there usually is), you'll have something to do to kill some time. All of the barbers are skilled and can handle any combination of haircuts, beard trims, and shaves. I usually go here for a buzz and a beard trim. However I would recommend calling ahead because this place can get packed. read more

Rude barbers. The time this shop opens and closes is also inaccurate. Been here a few times and won't come back again.

Best haircut ever, barbers know exactly what they are doing. Plenty of seating space and very friendly.

My previous barber retired at the end of 2017 so I had to look for another barbershop. Got there half hour after it opened on Saturday, and it was already busy. A bit of a wait, but it was worth it. Fresh, clean cut at a reasonable price. Next time will get there half hour before they open. Thanks to Chris for the cut. Will be coming back. read more
