I decided to bring my brothers and friends here after a great experience the first time. BOY did this time change my mind about this place. We got seated quickly, coffee quickly, but it took around ten minutes for our waitress to come to the table. Our waitress was a bit abrasive when talking with us, which is fine, and soon enough our orders were in. As soon as we got our food, my little brother noticed mold on his bun. It wasn't a lot, but it was bright green mold. After debate on if we should tell them or not, we decided it was the right thing to do. Very kindly, we informed an older waitress passing by that there was mold on the bun. She didn't say anything, gave a frustrated look, and stormed away. As we were sitting there waiting, the waitress came back and very bluntly went "So what's going on here guys." Like we had done something wrong. We kindly once again said that there was mold and we weren't upset. All we wanted was a new bun so my brother could enjoy his burger. She took the burger back and then came to us stating that all of the buns they had left had mold on them and offered to use regular bread as the substitute. We said it was fine and she soon brought the burger back. Sadly, most of us had finished almost all of our food by the time he was able to start. As he began to eat his burger, he pulled out a long black hair. At this point he had lost his appetite and wasn't able to finish it. We would've informed them of the hair had they been kind to us about their first mistake, but we didn't feel it was worth it. She also forgot my english muffin that she charged me extra for. AND We also found black hairs in our coffee cups. As we were ready to check out, the waitress could not figure out the computer system so the orders on split checks were all wrong, but we were understanding and didn't feel like fighting it anymore. We got our receipts and lined up to pay at the door and the employees were fighting loudly and in front of our faces! Telling each other that they didn't like each other's attitudes and to go home and that "they run this restaurant better than all of you!" The man checking us out was also getting frustrated and screaming "NEXT!!" while slamming our receipts on the counter. I made a comment "oh no this place is falling about at the seams!" as a joke, and he said "it's just this seventeen year old girl who thinks she owns the place." She was our waitress. Long story short, Gordon Ramsey needs to come in and whip this place into shape. Moldy hairy burgers are not our style. read more

We read the many reviews of Addie's before we ate here, so we did not know what to expect. We did not encounter the issues shared by others except the inconsistent temperature of the coffee refills. It all depended upon when a fresh pot had been brewed. The food was OK, but no frills. The pricing on the in house menu was higher than those we found advertised on line. Service was not lacking, but was only average, especially considering the place was 1/2 empty. The gentleman about whom many other reviews complained was showered, and conservatively dressed, although the sunglasses he wore inside the restaurant suggested that he had been out on a bender the night before. We've come here a few more times now and I can upgrade them to 4 stars. We've had nice, friendly servers each time, never got forgot about, and the food has always come out hot and quick regardless of how busy it was. Don't know what changed since our first visit, but we'll keep coming if in the area. read more

Wish i could give zero or negatives so check this...I pulled up to Addies excited and ready to eat a nice breakfast. We dropped our friend off at the front to grab a seat. She walked through the front where she pasted a sign that says please wait to be seated. She stood at the front for at least 10-15 mins where multiple people passed by never once greeting her or saying so sorry we'll be right with you. A gentlemen threw some menus to her and walked away, and frankly he wasn't the most welcoming gentlemen either dressed in all black with greasy hair, not professionally dressed at all. Looked almost like he spent the night out pulled an all nighter then rolled right into work. I thought to myself alright maybe they are just busy it'll get better. Well I'm sad to inform you it didn't. We then proceeded to wait outside at our table for another 10 mins before my friend got up went inside and asked for service. At this point I am thinking.....WHAT IS HAPPENING... finally they came out and took our order and right as she finished taking our order she saw our friend walked up but just left. Came back 10 mins later looked at my friend and goes o did you want something?! So fast forward to when we all received our food...... hold on let me get a drink of water for this one and I suggest anyone reading this grab some popcorn. Alright so we all get our food and my friend ordered a "fresh bowl of fruit" just to receive a bowl of mushy bananas and brown apples. Attached below. Exhibit a. Then I get a breakfast burrito with avocado. As I'm chowing throw the burrito because at this point we are an hour in, not to mention it was literally just Potatoes with a sheet of paper thin eggs over the top of the potato's. As I go to take another bite I see it....A full avocado barcode sticker. Like did she forget to scan this to charge me for it? When I told the waitress she said "o a sticker". Never once saying sorry or asking if there was something else she could get. No just took my plate and proceeded to charge me full price. Needless to say at this point I was checking all angles around because I literally thought I was on punked. I was looking for Aston Kutcher. Like am I on boiling points? Moral of the story, I never write reviews on yelp ever. But I felt so strongly about this to spread a public service announcement DO NOT GOOOOOOO HERE.....Ever. And Addies I advise you invest a little time reading through ur reviews and start listening to ur customers. Mediocre at best. Pancakes were not cooked all the way through, though bacon was good and crunchy, but the hash browns--for being Idaho you would think you would get better hash browns than from a freezer bag and not even browned on top. read more

Awful...just, just awful. While passing through Boise on a road trip, I opted for this restaurant for lunch due to it being an independent, and, I assume, family run sort of operation. We (not the royal 'we') came for food during the lunch rush time and things started off bad and only got worse. Many of the problems I experienced can be attributed to understaffing; extremely slow service, a lack of stocking tables (e.g. no silverware/napkins until requested), etc. As a result of being overworked and frazzled, the waitress was curt, negligent, and impatient with reasonable inquiries while ordering (asking about which types of salad dressing there are). The food took an eternity to arrive. I really cannot emphasize enough how long it took for the food to arrive...and when it did, it was incorrect. After this was brought to the attention of the waitress (and not in a rude way), the negligent service became non-existent. I would like to think that I am an easygoing customer and not an unkind Yelper, as this is my first 1-star review, but I would never willingly set foot in this place if I were in the area again. read more

I'm writing this review about two weeks after my experience here. The food was actually quite good and we got it in a timely manner. There was a waitress with lighter colored hair who helped my boyfriend and I. She was very bland and made little effort to make us feel welcomed. I work in customer service and this just was not it. I told her to keep the change and she just walked away without saying thank you. I shouldn't of tipped her anyways. My boyfriend didn't like his food. Parking can be a hassle, and the place has such a strong smell it almost makes me a bit ill. Big portions for a fair price. Nothing fancy here, just good ole American breakfast. We got the chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak for breakfast. Huge plate with tons of gravy. The chicken isn't the usual battered and fried, so we weren't a huge fan. Their rendition worked a lot better for the steak. Gravy could use more flavor, too. Addie's moved to their new location on Boise Ave. and it is quite cute. They have gone for the minimalist route for decor and ambiance. It was hustling and bustling for the Sunday morning Father's Day crowd. Four of us went in for breakfast at 8:30am and were seated quickly, waters were brought and then we were left for about ten minutes before we had a server come back and take any drink or food orders. There were four other tables that came and sat after us and all had coffee and order taken immediately. They did not seem to have a management that was effective of who was responsible for what. Our drinks and coffee went dry and we had to flag down a server multiple times when we needed something. Everyone ordered breakfast dishes to their liking and everything was delish. The biscuits and gravy was a hit. As a suggestion from foodies to the restaurant, they need to get a better plan in place for restaurant serving management so the patrons don't suffer. Also, instead of wasting food (toast slices) try giving one piece of sliced toast instead of two because so much goes to waste. The servers didn't seem to know what was going and with so much potential available for this spot, if they improve those areas, they will be such a gem in near the college. read more

Addie's is great at what they have set out to deliver...hearty American breakfasts. This is our weekend staple for our family as the younger kids love the pancakes, French toast and thick bacon. The omelets are made to order and come with crispy hash browns and toast. As for the wait staff, we have been treated extremely well on every occasion (we have 5 kids, three of which are 5 and younger) and are always well attended to. When you are hungry for a hearty (not necessarily healthy) breakfast, give Addie's a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

Been a couple times to the new location now. Love the neighborhood location. I have high hopes for it. Inside is nicely remodeled. Love that it has beer on tap and bottomless mimosas!!!!! A friend recommend Addie's a few weeks ago saying they had the best biscuits and gravy in town. Since I needed something dense to help me get over last night I thought I would give it a try. Sadly, I was underwhelmed by the B&G. The pancakes were good and the bacon was well made, but the B&G fell short. It's was just okay. The portions were substantial however, which was my main focus, so that's good. Four people for less than $30 is pretty fair as well. Went to downtown Boise to have breakfast at Goldy's and ended up at Addie's. If you like fast friendly service, hot coffee, classic American breakfast, served in your Grandma's dining room, welcome to Addie's. The wife had corned beef hash, with eggs, hash browns, and toast. I had the veggie skillet with eggs. Eggs served on the veggies over the hash browns. Both were very enjoyable and served to our liking. Cost, $17 for 2. Heidi runs a down home wonderful place for breakfast. If it were in any other Idaho city it would blend right in but in downtown Boise it's a one of a kind. Anything with eggs are great and love their bacon. When you walk in you'll get a warm smile and instructions to sit wherever you'd like. It also has free parking, a real plus. read more
