I went there last Friday with a party of three. We were greeted by very friendly and polite young staff. They were so helpful and smiley.
We've ordered fish fry, chicken Chicken Pakora, mango lassi, Doi Begun, Fish Curry, Chicken Curry and Chicke Kosha, Luchi and steam rice. So much food and good portion we had to take half of it home. Price was all very reasonable and most customers were Indian and you know you go in the right place.
The menu is so authentic and is so difference to normal curry houses in the UK. My fish curry was cooked to perfection (not dry or overcooked) and the spiciness is just right for me (and I like spice food but not overwhelming). Both of the chicken dishes were also very delicious and not overcooked. They use dark meat cut instead of dry chicken breast, so it was great.
It is a no fuss restaurant and more like an eatery place. I didn't give five stars is because the sitting arrangement wasn't overly comfortable. The lighting, tables, chairs and the sticky table cloth doesn't make you want hang out whole night or a date night. But I was there for the food right.......I would give 4.5stars if I could.
The owner came and spoke with us and they were three local IT specialists opened this shop because of their passions of authentic indian street food which is very lack of in Reading and in this country.
