I was not able to find an appropriate mirror over the stove and went the custom route. That's when Paul came to my rescue. PH Glass was recommended by a friend and Paul delivered a perfect size mirror for my stove. Fast forward to late last year, I moved from the Peninsula to the city and the mirror in the hallway that came with the condo was smoked glass and had a starburst design on it. First of all, who puts a non functional mirror in the hallway?! After months of squinting and jockeying to get the best place to check my face and outfit before I leave the house I knew I had to change the mirror. I found Paul's email and we arranged to have my mirror changed out. Paul was a pleasure to deal with. He was prompt in his calls and I decided on a plain mirror to be replaced in the frame. Everything from the phone calls to the pick up and delivery went smoothly. If you ever need mirrors or glass projects Paul is the guy to go to. I went with PH Glass and Mirror upon the recommendation of my contractor who had worked with them…read morebefore. I was working on a remodel of my top deck and getting the floor resurfaced, then installing new, code compliant aluminum railing with glass panels. Paul was helpful with making sure he understood the scope of the project and design challenges presented in the project. I appreciated his understanding of permit requirements as well as we needed to make sure the city approved our final work. Once we had this understanding, I handed off the details to be worked out between my contractor and Paul so that we could move forward with the order. I trusted they were both professionals and could communicate all necessary information on the railing and glass measurements. Unfortunately, this was where I went wrong. This was a HUGE (several thousand dollar!!!) mistake. When the glass was delivered to the house, my contractor noticed the measurements were wrong. At this point, we couldn't recut the glass so we had to reorder all the glass. Additionally, some of the railing parts were not ordered at all! In trying to understand how two professionals that do this for a living would be capable of not getting all proper measurements down, they both played the blame game on each other ultimately neither accepted any responsibility with the goof up I ended up paying for. Essentially, the width of each glass piece was taken but they never discussed the height. At some point, someone should have clarified all dimensions multiple times to ensure the order was correct but this didn't happen. How do you take down the height and width then assume the height? I'm not sure but this is what happened. I was offered a small discount and fast turnaround time on the reorder for the glass panels but I still cannot believe that I ended up fronting the costs for a mistake I was not involved in! In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that we were having a home wedding and needed to fix the mistake quickly, I would have gone with another business at that point. Once the correct order came, the width of the glass did seem thinner than what I was promised and there's no telling how long this glass will last before shattering. I hope to not live to see this but I do want to warn anyone ordering from PH Glass that you need to ensure you order a correct thickness for your application.
