Your comments couldn't be any further from the truth. A patient just mentioned to me that she saw this post, and she wanted to let me know. She said it didn't sound anything like me. And quite frankly, I just looked in my files, and I can't find any Mark S.
You're welcome to call me at the clinic (225-925-1188) if you took issue with me for some reason - I'd like the opportunity to address your concerns. However, I don't believe you would ever find another patient who'd visited our clinic to express anything remotely close to what you've reported.
The majority of our patients show considerable improvement, but as with any medical intervention, not everyone responds as favorably. If this is a category within which you fell, I'm sorry I/we couldn't help you more; however, being rude and disrespectful is not how I've built this practice. I can assure you and anyone reading your snarky comments of that for sure.
With regard to my medical training, after completing a pre-med curriculum at SMU, I attended a four year program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas. I subsequently passed all national licensure exams to become a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and became licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners as a licensed acupuncturist (L'Ac). My mother's credentials as a physician have nothing to do with my education and training.
If her name came up, it was likely in response to inquiry of how I became interested in acupuncture. She was exposed to it at a medical conference where they were shown video footage of acupuncture being used as the sole means of anesthesia for a surgical procedure. That naturally impressed her, and her mention of it initially intrigued me. As I began looking into it more, my intrigue gradually grew into genuine interest. I then decided to pursue it professionally.
My gut tells me this is either a fake post or you're venting over something else in your life and directing your anger my way, for whatever reason. Or you're out to smear me for ulterior motives. I can't figure it out, because it's so off-base.
I'm surprised I even took the time to respond to such ludicrous remarks, but I just couldn't let such false statements go without countering their validity. And again, I welcome a call from you instead of hiding behind the anonymity of a Yelp post. If there's anything I did or said that you took issue with I'd seriously like to know, so that we can clear the air. But for the life of me, I have no idea what you're talking about (or if you're even a real patient for that matter).
An hour later ... for the record, I just looked Mark S. up on Yelp, and he lives in Hawaii!!! If he's a real person for that matter - I still don't know. Wow, it's even more ridiculous than I thought. Here's a warning for anyone reading this - if you believe "Mark S." you probably don't need to even bother calling the clinic, because his comments are as worthless and hollow as he appears to be. And that's my warning to counter his.
