The treatment rooms are clean and Dr. Yang played relaxing music during my dry needle session. I had a moxibustion and dry needle treatment done, where Dr. Yang would place dry needles in certain spots to relax me and then use moxie sticks on my 5th toe, both sides. The treatment is very relaxing; I felt warm afterwards and slept better. Dr. Yang is very gentle, calming and informative. I would recommend her as a acupuncturist.

The first time I went for my current injury, I had to wait for almost a half hour. I was then told that I could come back another day because the DPT was busy. I responded by saying I was there now. I'll wait. When I finally got in to get diagnosed, there were a ton of people in there. The DPT listened to my description of my injury and without even examining me, told me what my injury was. There were so many interruptions at this point I wanted to walk out. But, I stayed to a continuing stream of interruptions during the time on was on the examining table when she finally examined me, almost an hour after I walked in the door. Against my better judgment, I made another appointment. When I showed up for the next appointment, I again had to wait. Again, there were a ton of people there. The assistant PT had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and had to continuously go back and forth to the DPT who was again dealing with multiple people. I just walked out. They couldn't care less about me walking out and canceling all my appointments. Despite its name, this PT place isn't geared to athletic injuries. It is dominated by older people. (There is nothing wrong with that. Just don't advertise that you gear to sports. For example, the DPT clearly wasn't an athlete.) It appears that the service that was once the cornerstone of this place is gone. It seems that it is all about getting as many people in the door as possible (Read: $$$$). That afternoon I made an appointment with Sportscare. They are very passionate about what they do. I will never return to SportsMed.

It took time but gradually I was able to cut the dose and now 6 months later, I don't have to take it anymore. Some numbness is still there, but I am walking better and better every day. He would alternate between looking over my shoulder as I filled everything out to pacing like he had way too much coffee. I have had acupuncture before so what took place next was insane. Usually the acupuncturist talks to you about what the issue is, places the needles, dims the lights, puts on spa music and leaves the room WITH OUT interruption for 20 minutes. This place had very loud music (soft hits but VERY loud), someone WALKED IN a few times during my treatment, the door to the junk space was wide open - just not a very relaxing experience at all. This man was off his rocker. BTW - he never introduced himself so I have to call him "this man" I'll admit this man did more than I expected, but after an hour and a half of being pulled, twisted, and climbed on, I had enough and asked to leave (did I mention I only made an appointment for acupuncture). This man actually climbed on my back and pounded my muscles to "loosen" them. The muscle simulators that he put on and the cupping while he did the acupuncture was a nice touch, but the rest was just bat shit crazy - and someone that kept coming in and out of the room while I was barely dressed was just not okay. Very unprofessional set up - I was way more stressed leaving that office than when I walked in. Bat. Shit. Crazy.
