My experience with Acupuncture Advantage started with hope but unfortunately ended in shock and disappointment. I originally started going there because of their sliding scale program after relocating from California and trying to find an affordable and healing place to manage my migraines and stress. For a while, I believed I had found a compassionate environment. A couple of years ago, I had a very upsetting experience with Julie Shen. During an appointment she asked what I wanted treated and I mentioned stress relief and a "reset" (a term I believed she had previously used). She abruptly became dismissive, denied ever saying that, spoke to me in a rude tone, and ultimately refused to treat me. I left in tears. Despite how hurt I felt, I chose not to leave a negative review because I respected the clinic. Meredith Vorath was aware of this situation and she was actually the one who suggested I switch providers. After that I began seeing Sara, who has been nothing but kind, ethical, professional, and truly passionate about her work. I never had any issues with Sara and always felt respected and cared for as a patient. Recently, while suffering from a severe migraine, I scheduled the first available appointment simply because I was in pain. To be completely honest, I had forgotten about the incident from two years ago and was just trying to get relief. Instead of care, I received a message that Julie would not treat me, followed by an email stating my patient rights had been revoked entirely. What hurt the most was the threatening tone stating that authorities would be called if I showed up. This was extremely distressing considering I had done nothing wrong except try to seek treatment for migraine pain. I immediately tried to reach Meredith to understand what I had supposedly done. I left two voicemails and sent multiple emails asking for a simple explanation. I never received a response. Being ignored like I never existed after being a patient there was incredibly painful. What makes this situation even more confusing is that Julie and I had previously been on friendly terms and had even shared meals outside of the clinic. The sudden escalation without communication feels unfair and unnecessary. I truly believed this was a compassionate healing space. I especially believed Meredith was a fair and understanding leader based on past interactions. Being disregarded without even a conversation changed my entire impression. Patients deserve communication, fairness, and compassion -- especially when they are simply seeking help for pain. I hope management reflects on how situations like this are handled so no other patient experiences this kind of emotional distress. read more

I had my first acupuncture appointment yesterday with Miriam. She went over with me on my history and provided very great information. Miriam understood my concerns of needles and she would tell me when she was putting another one on me. It did help me feel understood and relaxed. I have been going to this place for over a month, twice a week. I have had 3 spine surgeries and a hip replacement. My right foot has neuropathy and I have chronic back pain . Julie is so knowledgeable and does explain what she is trying to correct. I would wake up in the morning so stiff that I found it hard to walk. Now I'm just slightly stiff and without back pain. The neuropathy will never go away 100% but I feel that this is helping me. Very friendly, clean and the price is right. This will make me keep on going. So easy to get an appointment on line also. Accupuncture Advantage is a community style clinic with a sliding scale payment option for treatments. On the first visit a consultation determines the course of treatment. During the course of several visits I experienced two of the three practitioners on staff. The procedures were expertly and gently administered in a private room. I rested for 30 to 45 minutes and then the needles were removed. After the first treatment I experienced good relaxation and a sense of calm. I will continue to receive treatments as the positive effects build. I highly recommend this acupuncture clinic. read more

I discovered Acupuncture Advantage while visiting Florida (I live in California) and was in need of an acupuncture treatment. Back home, I go to a community acupuncture clinic so I Googled "community acupuncture Florida" and found the wonderful women healers at Acupuncture Advantage. Meredith and Sara have been my lifesavers while on my frequent trips to Florida and have helped me with issues that no one else was able to... I had full range of motion from a painful rotator cuff injury in one treatment. Now, I don't promise that everything will be healed in one session -- acupuncture takes time -- but that was particularly miraculous. I have been to several acupuncturists, so when I went to Acupuncture Advance in Boynton Beach, I thought I new what to expect. What I didn't expect was their awesome pricing and the community setting but I was so relaxed that it didn't matter that others were in the same room. There were several others the room. Everyone lays on a very comfortable, reclining float chair and they offer blankets to cover with if you want. Next time I may bring an iPod and ear buds to zone out easier with my own music. The room is very spa-like with a relaxing Zen atmosphere. Meredith has a very relaxing, healing touch. She is very quick in needle placement and the whole treatment was painless. I look forward to my next treatment with Meredith. If you are looking for results from an expert in Acupuncture Medicine, look no further! Also, my personal opinion is...that because it IS a treatment and their prices are dirt cheep, I would tip the therapist just as you would a facial or massage as she is performing a treatment. read more

COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE!! TRY THIS PLACE. I was so glad to find a community acupuncture place in Boca that is run by a skilled and kind practitioner, Garrett. I have used a community acupuncture practice before in Cambridge, MA and for me it is the only way I can afford to get acupuncture as frequently as I need/want it. Garrett is: kind, caring, welcoming, efficient and VERY skilled at acupuncture. I had not slept-well in over three months and the night after my first treatment--I slept like a baby for almost 9 hours. The office: convenient, comfortable, clean with easy on street parking. The "community" style of acupuncture means that all patients are treated in the same room. Each patient sits back in their own easy chair. Everyone keeps their clothes on (of course) and the needles are placed distally--on your hands, arms and lower legs. I wore yoga pants and a short sleeve t-shirt and that was perfect. She has been able to help with symptoms such nausea, foot swelling, anxiety, not sleeping- every rough step of pregnancy she has found a way to help. The clinic feels warm friendly and inviting. I first found him on yelp and decided to try this place last summer when I was having pain in lower back, shoulders and neck. As everyone says here, he is great! His pricing structure helps and let me to go back for several treatments until the pain goes away unlike other places. I stopped going here after a few treatments when my pain went away. After a half year, my shoulders got so tense (from long hours of sitting) and I was having bad pain one day so I quickly made an appointment with him online and saw him during the lumch break on the same day. His 1 hour treatment significantly released the pain. I will always come back to Garrett whenever I need acupuncture tratments. Making appointment online is very easy. Even if he is completely booked, he is nice enough to make his schedule work for you as much as his time allows. read more

We've had a lot of life challenges that could have sacked us and having an affordable healthcare option like this is invaluable. Last Fall, acupuncture specialist Garrett Krause took over Linda Giorgio's practice (and she went off to get married). Although different than Linda, he is every bit as good and - if it's possible - has energized this place even more. Garrett has been great for us for treating depression, back issues and low energy thus far. If chronic back pain is a reality for you...and you're adventurous, ask Garrett about "cupping". My partner uses it in conjunction with his acupuncture treatments. ### Okay - Acupuncture Advantage is a major find. We came down from MA on 11/1 for the season after several months of severe back and neck pain. Linda is an expert and definitely not a one-size-fits-all practitioner. In 3 weeks we have had dramatic reductions in pain and major increases in energy and our feelings of well-being. The Community Acupuncture "voluntary fee sliding scale business model" makes it possible for us to get two treatments a week and heal. Just awesome. We can't wait to be making more money again, because we want to be able to pay Linda top-of-scale. She is well worth it. read more

I am not new to acupuncture, but I am new to a community type setting. I wasn't sure what to expect. I saw Garrett, and after speaking to him for a bit, I knew this was going to be a good experience. He was very knowledgeable, kind and he seemed to care about me as an individual. The actual acupuncture treatment was fantastic. I chose the bed instead of the chair, and he did his needling like a pro. I barely felt anything. Dr. Garrett Krause is a natural born healer. He came highly recommended by one of our primary care physicians, which in itself is unusual.
