Acuna Total Car Care was recommended to me by a coworker. My car has been giving me some weird issues lately. To be on the safe side, I wanted to get it taken in for a 'check-up'. Acuna was highly recommended and I wanted to find a trustworthy shop. Dropping off my car was super easy. There is a key drop box outside, so I dropped off my keys and left for work. I felt like communication from the shop was pretty good. They were upfront with me about not finding a problem, but still being willing to search. They had my car for about 3 days, consistently trying to replicate the problem I had experienced. Acuna also completed an in depth diagnostic of my car. They didn't just try to throw parts at it, and I appreciate the honesty. When I went to pick up my car, Junior (the owner and a master mechanic) let me know about things I may want to take care of soon, but put zero pressure on me. He made me feel like a friend, as in he was so kind and willing to listen to my concerns. He also let me know the mechanic had tried to research the problem online. I find that extremely thoughtful. I will 100% be coming back in the future. My brakes will be due in 6 or so months, and I couldn't be more willing to come back. I had no washer fluid coming out in one car took it in and they fixed the disconnect then without asking changed the washer sprayers saying they weren't working, (but they did) Charged me more then originally quoted when I went in. then vehicle 2, No help by phone, twice I have called to get an estimate on work that I know needs to be done and they refuse to help over the phone. I have spoke to 5 other mechanics and they were about to give me a range of the work needed. All they want is for me to schedule with them. I feel that this is so they have the vehicle and then quote so that people say go ahead and do the work. Again 5 other mechanics were able to price me out the cost of a motor the labor it takes and any other possible parts. I found a great mechanic that I am working with now so I won't need to go back there. read more

Over charging. Per my opinion and evidence below. Part price $121 they said, but I called store they said they got it from. Real price per part number and store manager 69.99 Labor fee $140 per hour. You read that right. Most places like Jiffy Lube $75. Ask google the labor fee range for a mechanic per hour and I got $75-130. So to get just my driver side window to be able to roll back up total $488. Told me to be there at 430pm and I was but car wasn't done till 505pm. Minus 4 a stars for apparent price gouging on part, labor, telling men to come get and it was not done and making me wait so long and not telling me your per hour labor cost was so high. One star for getting issue fixed same day. Not worth it and I won't be going back. read more

Acuna was always been a reliable place to take my vehicles. I've recommended them to everyone. However, this last visit has proven they have regressed when it comes to ethical customer service. I took my Toyota 4Runner in to get the rear defroster fixed. When I returned, they said there was a cord hanging out of my hatchback, so they pulled it thinking that's the way it opened. Now it won't open at all. In my wildest dreams I can't figure out why they just didn't open it with the latch??? Now it doesn't work at all. They damaged my vehicle and tried to convince me that's the way it was. Are you kidding me!!! This is my work vehicle loaded full of my tile tools. I load and unload my tools everyday out of my rear hatchback. Like I'm going to pull tile saws out my side door. Now I have to get it fixed and I guess take them to small claims court to try and get reimbursed for the damages. On top of all that, as a last slap in the face, they charged me $150 for a diagnostics. OMG. I understand things happen. but the least you could do is take responsibility and admit YOU, for whatever reason, chose to open my hatchback the wrong way, without using the latch, and you damaged something causing it not to work. NOW, I really do have to try and unload my tools out of the side door until I can get this fixed. I wanted to ask to talk to the owner, but for all I knew I was talking to the owner, and I had to leave knowing I was about to blow my top!!! This was one of those auto-shop horrors that everyone hopes they can avoid, that I have never had to deal with, but I now know what it feel like... violated. These are unethical practices and I think it's safe to say, no, I would not recommend Acuna Auto to anyone for any reason. read more

Was having some serious issues with the drivability of my RAV4, and wasn't sure what the actual problem was since the OB2 was spitting out random codes each time. Acuna took my car in, did a full inspection and sourced the issue. Fixed it for me, as well as changing the spark plugs, oil change and changed cabin and air filters for such a reasonable price. I dropped it off at 9am, and had it back at 3pm the same day. I've had my car back for a few months now, and it's driving better than the day I purchased it from the dealer. If you drive a modified vehicle, and have run into countless shops that don't want to work on your vehicle you MUST visit Acuna. This is the best experience with a shop I've ever had! They actually took notes on my air suspension before doing an alignment for me, which was absolutely no problem and half the price of chain name competitors. I actually had an issue after getting the vehicle aligned, and once I brought it back Acuna was quick to make sure the issue was resolved. Acuna is great. Had to get a replacement hybrid battery for my Prius. They found a used one and put it in. That one was bad so they ordered another. They were quick and professional.
