Day after rattlesnake bite and first day home.
Dean P.

Took in my 11 year old Dog Cowboy into Acton Veterinay Clinic who had a rattlesnake bite on his snout. After calling 2 24hr emergecy Vet clinics in palmdale and lancaster and being told they are not taking new clients. After reviewing my options, Dr. LOKEN Let me put down half of a deposit so he immediately started the antivenom and my dog was able to go home the next day. He gave me meds and explained what to expect. Cowboy is now recovering and is getting better daily. Thanks to Dr. Loken and his wife Ladonna and the staff for making this unfortunate situation go as smoothly as possible.

We had an emergency with our goat. No one within a 30 mile radius could take him. I called Acton Vet Clinic as a last resort and Dr Loken agreed to see him (at closing time)! His staff was adorable and helped to calm my nerves. Our little guy would have died without their help. I can't say enough good things!!

Absolutely love this place and so does my accident proned American Bully. Great old school country vet.

Dr Lokey at Acton Vet is a good substitute for Dr Ruppert at Uno Animal in Lancaster, if you have to use the vet on a Saturday.

This is not my first review of our beloved Dr G, and I just recommended her to 6 more people again just these past 2 weeks. I always say to people I give her card to: "you will discover she is an Earth Angel - if she moved to a different town, I'd take my pup there... When you find a great vet, they are Gold! She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. That it so needed during that deeply emotional time, and more veterinary offices ought to follow her example. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. Unfortunately he passed, and I learned that finding the RIGHT professional truly makes ALL the difference. So yes, I drive from Sherman Oaks. Gratefully so :) I am thankful that my cherished pups are her patients. Her ethics, her care, her kindness, her knowledge, her integrity - she's our number 1!!!

Dr. Gonzalez was kind, patient, and thorough, taking the time to explain each step of the euthanasia process. She ensured our dog's maximum comfort throughout, even creating a makeshift pillow so he could rest peacefully. We were heartbroken, but her understanding and gentle approach gave us comfort while making the process completely painless and stress-free for our giant furbaby. She was available the same day and brought in a caring team afterward to respectfully and compassionately assist with our 132-pound dog. The thoughtfulness, professionalism, and empathy shown by Gemcore made an unbearable moment a little more bearable. We are deeply grateful and highly recommend them to anyone seeking a veterinary team that truly cares.

For MONTHS I've sent emails, I've called, I've gone up and volunteered to care for the dogs, and Linda did not give me the time of day to set up an appointment for adoption. She put me through the wringer over and over again, ignoring my calls and texts. I had my heart set on this dog and I'm beyond pissed. How this other person was able to adopt blows my mind. Linda Blair does not deserve to run this business. Someone please rescue these dogs from this foundation!

Numerous dogs were kept in crates in the garage poorly lit, reeking of urine and poorly socialized and housed. It was noon and some were in their crates and had not been taken out for a bathroom break. I overheard Linda chastise employees for this. However these workers were working their hearts out. Too many dogs in too small an area, some turning on the others and drawing blood from a companion in one instance in my presence. A friend and I volunteered our services for a day, a policy encouraged of our employer. We've volunteered for several rescues in Acton so it's not our first rodeo. We arranged well in advance and offered to do the drudge work that most volunteers aren't interested in doing ie painting, debris cleanup, brush removal, etc. We feel this to be a more valuable benefit to rescues with our limited time. We pulled weeds, raked, cleared debris, filled a large dumpster, etc. The place was shockingly messy and overcrowded compared to other rescues we've volunteered for. We then painted a newly built grooming shed. Linda chose the colors and provided the supplies. We're nearly done and she then prevaricates as to the color she chose and advised us no worries she may change the color to a VERY slightly different shade. ‍ Obviously she doesn't appreciate or value the time spent by the volunteers who work for her to even debate this and in our presence. Obviously a first world country rescues dilemma and she's not lacking for volunteers if she can afford to dither over a paint shade. She shouted at me for simply for refilling dog's water buckets as she wasted at least an hour of our time while we waited for her to arrive and in between projects as she came and went during the day. We sat around quite a bit waiting to be directed to other work once we finished the assigned task so we found things to do which we thought would help but instead got shouted at for our initiative. She tried to walk it back stating that was someone else's duties and if they weren't doing their jobs she needed to know. While trying to micromanage and control everything she's so disorganized she cannot properly delegate. Linda is both the dogs best friend but her own and the dogs worst enemy. I understand why she has difficulty finding permanent staff and volunteers. I now see her social media posts asking for donations and volunteers and I understand why she cannot find good, permanent volunteers and support staff.

Christy's massage techniques are able to calm my anxious little chihuahua mix! Both women have given him laser treatments that will hopefully build up both of his back legs. They certainly seem to relax him. Bruno was initially quite unhappy in the hydrotherapy. But he is now water-walking 5 minutes! This is due in no small part to the Zen Den staff. The facility itself is clean, quiet and even when multiple animals come in at the same time, it feels soothing and peaceful. So although we are there to rehab Bruno, it is also a pleasant experience for me! I understand why so many dog people give Zen Den high marks. Not only is it one-of-a-kind in the Antelope Valley, but it is also a clinically sound and helpful place with knowledgeable, caring people. From a purely practical perspective, the prices at Zen Den are more than fair. And if necessary, they have a payment plan that can be utilized so that your furry baby can feel better. I give Zen Den an A+++!

We saw two different veterinarians and had X-rays done, but everything came back normal. Despite trying pain management, sedatives, and strict crate rest, nothing seemed to help. An MRI was recommended, but it was very costly and not something I could pursue at the time--especially without a clear diagnosis. That's when I decided to try therapy with Christy at Zenden. Over the past few months, my dog has been doing physical therapy with Christy, including water therapy and laser treatments. The improvement has been incredible. She has made such a strong recovery, and I truly believe we wouldn't be where we are today without Christy's care and dedication. Christy goes above and beyond for both her patients and their owners. I'm so grateful for everything she's done and can't thank her enough.

She interrupted me rudely and said, "I'm not the one you spoke to," when all I was trying to do was get copies of my dog's records. I spent almost $1,700 here for my dog's pneumonia treatment, and unfortunately it did not help at all. They kept my dog for 5 hours, and after everything, I still had to bring her to a different hospital so she could get proper care. There was also a problem with my dog's prescription. They prescribed a medication that wasn't even available until Monday. I was honestly willing to let that pass because I understand things happen, but the rude attitude from the receptionist was too much. I understand vet hospitals can get busy, but clients who are worried about their pets deserve compassion, professionalism, and proper communication -- especially after spending that much money. Very disappointed with both the service and the overall experience.
