Reasonably priced garage that offers great service. They even picked up my vehicle and dropped it back home so that I did not even have to leave the house. I would definitely use Acton Motors again. read more

Town Hall Car Park

This is my car park of choice when visiting the city, simply because it is cheaper than its neighbouring car parks and there are always spaces available. The charges are reasonable too charging customers £3.40 for three hours and £3 after 6pm as long as you are out by 2am. On Sundays it's a mere £3 all day - bargain! Car park operates 24 hours too! Result!

Its big and ugly but it does the job ok, navigation is simple and its right on top of the mailbox so its nice when dining out. Parking can range from £3-£6 for a few hours or a days parking on sunday for £3.00. Bit of a walk from the Bullring but worth it if you want to dodge the rush.

I realise it's also a chain, but this car park is very handy and much better value than many others In the area. If you go to the cinema on Broad street you get up to 3 hours free, which is very handy indeed. It's never been full whenever we've been, even when others nearby have been. You pay on leaving, so don't need to rummage round the car trying to find any loose change either. Even at Christmas time I have always managed to find a parking place. Don't use the lifts here though, someone I used to work with got stuck in one once and the emergency button didn't work. They had to call their office to get someone to contact euro parks for help!

Park Safe

I think this is reputed to be one of the safest carparks you can ever park in. I certainly agree…read more They can happily boast about: no car theft no theft of contents from vehicles no vandalism or graffiti no vagrants, drug abuse or muggings, since opening 1998. Access to the carpark is as normal, through a barrier where you are issued a ticket. As you drive in and around, you notice yellow boxes attached to the floor, and a number on the wall of each bay. So park up and take note of the number of your bay. Before you leave the carpark, there are a few machines on the wall for you to secure your bay. Just type in your bay number, insert your ticket and the sensor under the car now detects that it is secure. Any movement of your car will now get flagged up in the control room. And on your return, as soon as you insert your ticket to pay for your stay, it releases your bay. Access to the whole carpark is very secure, as you can only get into the building with a ticket, and the gates where you drive in and out only open on arrival and close as soon as you're through. There are also panic buttons and cctv. The location is great aswell. Its not that close to the Westfield centre but its close to the Cathedral Quarter and I always use this place when on an alcohol-free night out! The cost might be slightly more than the average, but I don't mind paying that for the security it offers. For me, the type of person who goes back to check the front doors locked about 3 times, I do really like this carpark. It does feel very safe.
Stated as the safest carpark in the country, Park Safe is located slightly on the outskirts of town…read morenear the Magistrates Court and Queens leisure centre. As you enter the carpark, you take a ticket from the machine and gates open. You chose your parking spacce & there is an option to enter your bay into a machine which activates an alarm should your car be moved without deactivating the alarm. When you return to your car, you have to have a ticket to get into the building. You pay for your ticket at the machine and locate your car. As you reach the exit, you put the ticket into the machine and a gate will open for you to drive out. Prices to park are reasonable & about the going rate in Derby, with the additional advantage of peace of mind, knowing its nearly impossible for anyone to break in or steal your car whilst shopping! The only disadvantage I can think is that it is located the other side of town from the Westfields centre, which means you often have to walk a long way to reach Derby's main attractions.
East Midlands Aeropark

There is a free carpark, and entry to the site is just £2 for adults, u16s free. There are many static displays of both military and commercial aircraft, some of which you can often look around inside. There is also an indoor exhibit area, large picnic area, toilets and some catering. But the best bit as far as the kids are concerned is the viewing mound. Sited right next to one of the runways, you can regularly see planes taking off and coming in to land. The site is wheelchair/buggy accessible (although parts can get a bit boggy if it's been wet). It is only open on certain days, so it's worth checking the website before going.

The intention is always to park on Touchwood as I find it (rightly) offers easiest access to the prime shopping spots. It is a modern and well-maintained car park, in keeping with the modern and well-maintained mall that it serves. The car park has 1,700 parking spaces so it tends to fairly stress free to find a space. Parking bays are good and wide so you won't find yourself struggling to get the car doors open. Mon-Sat rates go from £1.20 for up to one hour to £15.00 for 24hours. Sundays offer good value with three hours plus for just £4.00.
