It was the first place that took me after 30 years in prison. Do I owe them a debt of gratitude for that.

I'll start by saying that Terrace View is a truly 5 Star facility. I'd give it 10 stars, however,…read more 5 is the max allowed. The staff are truly amazing. In my 2 1/2 month stay at Terrace View I interacted with all the staff. From my personal experience they have been extremely helpful and encouraging for my recovery and eventually return home. I took the time to do a lot of walking around the facility and doing so talked to all the staff (nurses, nurse assistants, cooks, physical therapists, maintenance workers, cleaning crew, etc., and to a person they all loved their jobs and most importantly they truly cared for and loved the patient/residents. Most of the employees have been there for 15 + years. Many over 20 years. The facility is being cleaned on a daily basis. Floors buffed, rugs vacuumed and buffed, all patient rooms swept and mopped daily. Beds were made up cleaned where needed. Patients were given showers on a weekly schedule and the nursing assistants were caring, respectful and very patient. The facility just smelled clean every day. Overall the food great. You also had an alternative menu for other food choices. The dietician would work with you to get you the needed nutrition. The tilapia was exceptional. My favorite. Deserts were plentiful as well as ice cream and sherbert. My physical therapy was more than I expected. Paul, Jong, Hanna, were the best. I don't recall all their names, but to a person, they were very professional, extremely knowledgeable and very caring. I can't thank them enough for their care and encouragement for me. There are some patients who are long term care. I think if I was in than medical condition, there is no better place to be. The care, respect, professionalism and love is the very best. This truly starts with the facility administrator (Brendon Dahl) whose leadership doesnt come any better. His professionalism and care is reflected in every employee. Terrace View is the very best.

This review is long overdue giving excellent marks to Terrace View. In just a short time, Terrace View had him out of bed, in the chair and doing bike and weight exercises and practicing standing. He also transitioned from continuous tube feeding to three meals a day by the time he left! Our family is grateful for their hard work, dedication and patience. He has continued to recover and get stronger using everything he learned at Terrace View. Since then he no longer has a feeding tube, is on a regular diet and is walking in physical therapy. Everyone at Terrace View including the caregivers, nurses, therapists, cooks, activities team and office staff all gave 100% and went above and beyond. Thank you!

To a one, they also seem to appreciate each other and their employer. I have always found smiles on their faces, and never a distracted or conflicted attitude when assisting their patients. Once they got me there they put me in a diaper! After putting up with this for several days I threatened to require transfer to another care center. Then they promised to get a commode for me for my bedside. They kept promising and promising, and never did it for the 6+ weeks I was there! In addition, the first space I was assigned had a TV that would only turn off if you unplugged it. Also, their TV channels did not include KTLA, a major local channel. Hygiene was also an issue. The curtain between me and my neighbor had smear of snot or other bodily fluids on it. It took more than a week for them to change it. Later on I had a chest infection and I got some fluid on the new curtain. When I told the cleaning crew, all they did was rehang the same curtain with the side toward my neighbor (who was there for cancer treatment)! There was also a security issue. One male resident, who apparently had some form of dementia, kept wandering the halls and entering my space, claiming he was visiting a friend (no males were in my unit, and the other resident also did not want him in our unit). I told the staff and they cautioned him ("you don't want to go back to the hospital (mental?), do you?"), but he continued to poke his head into my unit. I observed them lying to residents. They took away my neighbor's wheelchair because they didn't want her wandering unaccompanied in the halls, but told her they didn't know what happened to it. They promised physical therapy four times a week but I never received more than 10 to 15 minutes two or three times a week, and when I asked for more they said staff were unavailable.

I finally convinced my dad to see a physical therapist after he had been complaining about shoulder pain for a over year. Dr. Kang was able to totally fix the problem in a few sessions. My dad really liked how the PT sessions were not rushed, that everything was explained in a way that was easily understood, and particularly the friendliness and professionalism of Dr. Kang and his staff. My mom hurt her wrist while walking the dog, and she also went to Dr. Kang because of my dad's positive experiences. She was able to regain full functioning of her wrist due to Dr. Kang's efforts and knowledgeable advice. Dr. Kang even provided my mom a personalized regime of strengthening exercises which she still uses today. Especially as my parents get older, it is comforting to have a trusted physical therapist like Dr. Kang, who truly cares about his patients' long term well-being.
