I would like to start off by stating Attorney Falvey is a crook, thief and a lier. For the past year I have been assisting my parents financially, until it reached the time that they were left no choice but to file for bankruptcy, after years of accrued debt lead by health issues. After researching, we had thought attorney Falvey was the right choice, so we thought. I made an initial consultation with Falvey and my mother, and everything seemed well at that point. He reassured my mother that chapter 7 was for them and that they qualify and have nothing to worry, only problem was convincing my father that this was their best choice. So on a later date, I made another consultation appointment with both my parents. Again, attorney Falvey, reassured my parents that everything will be fine. Everything was left at the table and all questions were asked/answered.
We had been going back and fourth, with the law office needing ALOT of paperwork. Which was fine, however I was the only one capable of scanning every single document, creating files, and sending them to attorney Falvey.
At that, attorney Falvey, requested that we pay him $2,500 for his fees and court fees. So we did without any hesitation and wanted to get everything going and over with quickly.
My mother and I had made another trip to the law office and sat with the paralegal and gave all the paperwork that attorney Falvey wanted, yet some how we were missing a lot of stuff that was not mentioned to us that were needed. He had circled the items on a packet of paperwork that were needed.
As soon as we had given the documents needed to the law office, everything else was in their hands...until....
My mother received a phone call at work from attorney Falvey, stating that he is going to have to drop the case because it is to "complex" for him. Complex? You stated you were the best bankruptcy attorney in the state, with over 35 years experience! Complex? So because he dropped the case he decided to keep over $1,200 of my parents $2,500 payment. He felt justified taking $1,200 from two hard working people in their 60's who couldn't afford much financially because of their health issues and debt?
According to the attorney, he charged the $450 for the 2nd consultation with my father. I stated to him, my mother and I convinced him that this was their only choice, we were under the impression that we were to go there and sign paperwork and be there approximately 45 minutes or so. Instead, it was an identical repeat of the first consultation. 80% of this consultation was about his personal life, how he's Greek, and what his grandmother used to teach him, ancient history lessons, and how he owned 1.5 million in properties in Groton, CT and lost it all, etc.... which all took about 3 hours. That consultation was useless, and not needed. We didn't even get to sign papers. He had them come a 3rd time, which let me remind you, his office is a 90minute drive each way.
So they were charged $450 for that BS 2nd consultation. Another $75 to "open files in QB" (really? $75 to open files?) another $300 charge for entering "client data into file" and just a bunch of other charges that he claims to take away from my parents, totaling $1,262.25.
So let me ponder this for a minute, an attorney with 35+ years experience, supposedly "the best" and "top" attorney, decide a case was a little to complex for him (which we still were not told why and his reasoning) and takes their money. So me being upset, I have left several emails and phone messages with attorney Falvey, getting very minimal response and feedback. It got to the phone, where I know they knew my phone number and would not answer my calls, so immediately I would call with a number they don't recognize and they answered immediately... hmm... seems a little sketchy.
Attorney Falvey , and his staff began to ignore the fact that we even existed and would give us the answers we deserved and/or an explanation to why he's a crook.
Finally after getting a response from him... "It would be best that you wait until you receive my detail report before making accusations. I should be able to send it to you and your parents this coming Monday"... well that day has passed and still no answer from this attorney Dave Falvey. You sir are a crook and thief who took away from financially hurting, hard working people. I will make this publicly know. Unless you decide to fully reimburse my parents, but seeing that you need to recuperate from $1.5 million in property loss, I doubt you'd do the right thing...
The public should be aware of this man and his staff. You can't even trust an attorney in this world anymore. read more
