I couldn't find a menu anywhere (I later saw it on a blackboard over to one side) so I had no idea what I had ordered - a menu surpris one might say! Fortunately, each course was delicious, if not massively gastronomic - carrot & coriander soup was followed by an egg based dish and then steak & chips and a slice of tarte au citron to finish. It was everything that you want a set lunch to be and the price was better still - €13 for 4 courses.
Service was well run by the proprietor, a busy but very friendly man who presented me with a carafe of cold water immediately upon arrival - just the thing a hot cyclist needs. At the end of the meal he filled up my bidons from the same ice cold source, helping me stay cool in the afternoon. All excellent stuff and a great place to stop for lunch if you are passing through Luchon.
