This is the Mission Point Lighthouse and also part of the state park district. This is a quaint…read morelittle lighthouse, situated at the end of the Old Mission Peninsula. The drive up here is absolutely beautiful and well worth the trip. The lighthouse is on a little hill that overlooks the lake with a couple nice places to sit and enjoy the scenery. The charge is $4 to go up the top, which we declined to do, as the place is tiny and super cramped inside. We did though, walk all the way out to the end of the peninsula. It is a bit of a hike, so wear some good shoes. The walk is worth it though, and there are some cool things to see along the way. It takes about an hour there and back, and make sure to stop and throw a rock on the pile!

We stopped at the beach to check that out, went to the library, and biked through the "downtown". It reminds me of an old town with cute little shops that sell knick-knacks, candy, etc. Really picturesque city to stop in.

They've got a shop dedicated to alpaca wool goods, a more gentleman focused shop called the Haberdashery, a pet boutique, a used bookstore, a toy store, and many others including my favorite of them all, Moonstruck Gardens, which is packed full of delightful art, stickers, home decor, and more. They also have dining options and a coffee shop if you're thirsty or a little peckish. The layout can be a little confusing but there's plenty of signage to help you along the way. But the beauty of it is just exploring and finding the fun around every corner.

Dont let that scare you away though, because it is worth it! Nature is all around. If you like to hike or ride bikes then there are a TON of options. They also have a pretty large casino. I didnt go there, but it has changed the landscape. It has brought a ton of chain restaurants. Some people like it and some of the locals dont. It has definitely brought more traffic. I see these folks every day, and I believe things have changed a lot.... For several years now, we have had two female employees. Both are cheerful, and have gone out of their way to help, ie, helping me figure out the best way to ship fresh cherries from our orchard to family, and letting me know if a "flat rate" box would be cheaper when shipping.
