Brilliant customer service and excellent delivery time. Bought my clarinet from Ackerman Music and was extremely satisfied with the experience. The delivery was very fast (right on the next day, as I remember) I first ordered a more expensive clarinet but later sent it back because I changed my mind and decided to buy a cheaper model. I got refunded all 100% of the difference in price and the refund was very very quick which I really appreciate. The impression I got is that the company is not just making money but really is trying to provide the best service possible, so I would very recommend the company to anyone. I have been shopping at Ackermans for as long as I remember and it is always a joy. The store is compact yet well organized. They always have an excellent selection of music for both violin and viola at all difficulty levels. The staff are friendly and helpful. I am a music teacher and now live abroad but make a point to visit Ackermans when I visit England each year because they always have new material that I haven't found elsewhere... A top class music store! Definitely worth a visit! read more

History

Established in 1994.

Ackerman Music was started in Hove in 1994 by Brian Ackerman. Today, Brian and his wife Lynne have expanded the business to include 4 shops in Sussex and a successful online presence. Brian has had many years experience of playing, making and repairing woodwind instruments and was awarded an ARAM for services to music. Lynne has been involved with music most of her life and is an active member of the local musical community and specialises in sheet music. Together they head a team of friendly and knowledgeable staff who aim to provide you high quality products at competitive prices with excellent service.
