I had been looking around to find an authentic Turkish bakery for quite some time as I really wanted to try their breads. I happened upon this bakery while waiting for the Grand Bazaar to open, as I saw a ton of local businessmen/workers lined up out front. We got in line and ordered what everyone else seemed to be ordering (so I have no idea what I ordered, lol!).
We ended up getting some kind of bun with nutella filling as well as a smaller bun filled with clotted cream (unfortunately we don't like clotted cream so we just ended up eating around it). The bread itself was super soft, though I wouldn't necessarily call it fluffy, and had a pleasant savory taste to it which I read online should be expected from Turkish pastries because they tend to use more oil/fats in the dough. They also didn't cake the nutella on too much the way that the street simit vendors do, so I enjoyed it a lot more! Would definitely recommend coming here, and since they have multiple locations I think if I pass by another one I'll definitely stop to try other items. read more
