Hotel Costa Vella - I think gin is in this photo but all I see is ice

When they came and poured the gin there was barely anything in my cup . To give you a background, most places charge you 5 euros for a drink like this and this place charges 8.50 which is fine if they served it correctly . I have attached pictures of the amount which is 1/4 of what any other place would give you. I asked the waiter to put a little more and he stated he had to ask his boss. He came back and said he would charge me again. I am disgusted and disappointed at the lack of service and the fact that they think people are not smart enough to see what they are doing . I used to refer people to this place all the time, no more . Just because you have a beautiful atmosphere doesn't mean you can rob people, awful!

Hands down, this is the best hotel in Santiago! Get a room with a gallery overlooking the courtyard…read moreif you can. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, free wifi. Bathrooms have luxurious rain head showers. At check-in, we received a book by the hotel on where to eat, drink and what to see in town. Very thoughtful! The courtyard is fantastic. We loved having our wine, breakfast and afternoon coffee outside among the apple & lemon trees while listening to the tranquil fountain. By far, this is the best hospitality I've ever received when traveling. Javier & Roberto went above and beyond during the booking process. Once there, Javier helped us make dinner reservations, answered all our questions, and provided some laughs. I loved their Tarta de Santiago so much, Javier even ordered one for me upon request. You can tell that the employees here are very passionate about the hotel. The hotel is in walking distance to all the main sites. Discounted parking is nearby. Definitely stay here!

5 Stars - Buen Camino, Gran Hotel!…read more From the moment I stepped into the grand, voluminous lobby after my long journey on El Camino, the Parador de Santiago de Compostela felt like a sanctuary. The welcome was warm, the atmosphere majestic, and every detail of this historic hotel radiated elegance. My room was spacious and serene--just what I needed for rest and reflection. The staff were exceptional, offering impeccable service with kindness and grace. Bravo to everyone at the Parador de los Reis Católicos--what a truly heavenly experience!

We were here for our Honeymoon in 2010 and this time, we walked here at the end of the Camino Ingles. One big change since our last visit was that our Superior room was upgraded to a Junior Suite, and with a view of the Cathedral Plaza! As this is one of the best Paradors in the system, everything her remained first class. Our breakfasts were fantastic, the historical walk arounds within the Parador were informative, the architecture was fascinating, the common areas were comfortable and relaxing, and the outdoor patio restaurant was a fun place to hang out. I had one little incident when a waiter accidently spilled sangria on me. I took it all with good humor, especially since the waiter was highly apologetic. Parador staff also offered to have the affected clothes washed, which were back in our room (with another apology and a few treats) within a couple hours. Being treated like royalty (especially when we're not) made our day. Gayle and I are already talking about another Camino, maybe the Portuguese Coastal Way. If we do, we have no doubt where we'll be staying again at the end of our Pilgrimage.
