After waiting 45 min for a shuttle we called the general number and took another 35 min to figure all out. This location is super close to LGA and is honestly one of the fastest and easiest car rental places I've experienced. Shawn helped me this time and he was fast, professional and super nice. They don't even really try to upsell you on the insurance which is super refreshing, since I usually prefer to use my personal car insurance. Highly recommend! read more

Avoid this place. I had a terrible experience last week and gave them the benefit of doubt and rented from them once again. Brought me a car that reeks of weed smell. The "manager" bob? According to someone else there but when asked directly, he says vanya?, who was behind the desk the entire time assures me the car does not smell like week. Asked him to go smell it himself and he refuses to until I made a big fuss about it. Then he tells me it's a brand new car and the smell is some sort of diffuser. If it's a new car, it should smell like one. Then "threatens" me eventually and says that he'll change it to a brand new car but it better come back as a brand new car. What? I've been here many times before and the people always tries to sneakily upsell you by saying wording it in a way that it isn't clear. Then when you ask them directly what the difference would be, they refuse to answer you. Then they claim you MUST take full coverage when you do not. But then says that it's a must. Stay away from this place. read more

Got a 2021 Toyota Corolla as my 5-day rental and, quite frankly, it sucked. Why dd it "suck," you may ask? Well, for starters, the wheels were out of balance so it shook like a cheap hotel massage bed. It was, apparently, out of alignment as well. Dirty inside, apparently a past accident victim (you can see the shoddy body work in the sun. Doesn't this usually mean that something ELSE is wrong with this "Jalopy?"), and shocks were worn. In my opinion, mechanically NOT road-worthy or safe (to whom should I report this car; I took a copy of the registration?)! I would've returned it and demanded my money back but I was driving back and forth to a Wake and FUNERAL! I used Priceline to get this, figuring I would save some money. Last time I use Priceline. Last time I rent from a wanna-be car rental outfit. BIG MISTAKE read more

Rented a car here and was so disappointed to get here and be told that the car we reserved wasn't here. After being told to come in later than our reservation time and having to sit and wait with two small children our reserved car never came in. Had to pay an astronomical amount more just to rent a Toyota Camry. If I would have known how expensive it was going to be would have rented from Enterprise near my house. Getting a shuttle from LGA airport was a nightmare. Even though you have a reservation with a time, they expect you to call to schedule a pick up, while every other rental car van drives by every 3-5 minutes. It took over 40 minutes to get picked up. When they finally came, each person we picked up complained about how long they were waiting. When you get to the office it is just as bad. They require proof of insurance or they charge an additional $80 even though rental car insurance is covered on my auto insurance plan. It took a long time to get through the check in process then they ask you to take a seat while someone goes to get your car. The person that gave me the car had a terrible attitude as well. Stick to Alamo, Enterprise, Budget or anything but Ace! read more

I rent a lot of cars. I rented with Ace which is connected to the company Drivo for the week of Thanksgiving for a great price. I showed up to pick up the cars and then the hidden fees kicked in. I was forced to get liability insurance which no rental car place has ever done in my experience. I tried to get out of paying it but they would not budge. I was also charged an additional daily fee to drive out of there Allowed Zone which was Ohio. Luckily my master card covered the LDW coverage or my final bill would have been more than doubled what the car would have initially cost. They also sent me a email saying if I gave them a 5 star review I could would get $25 back so be wary of the good reviews. read more

Terrible experience with this company, and I will never use it again. Arrived at counter at 10pm, too late to take shuttle back to airport and book another car, so I was stuck with this company. I was 5th person in line - it took an hour and a half for 2 clerks to process just 5 rentals. Horribly inefficient. At the counter I learned that the part of my trip into New Hampshire would incur a "surcharge" but the desk clerk couldn't or wouldn't tell me how much. I was already booked there, could not change the reservation, so again I was stuck. After I drove into New Hampshire, I got a text telling me that I had been penalized $15/day for every day of my trip, even though I was in NH only 2 days. These people only want to make a buck off of you, they have no interest in retaining loyal customers. Go somewhere else! The car that I eventually got did run very well. read more

A bunch of hidden fees that aren't highlighted till you show up for a pickup. The means to avoid them would require paperwork you'd have to take the train back for and waste your family's travel time entirely. The fine print is not included by referrers and frankly this difference should be highlighted and not merely included. read more

Drop off was super easy and efficient. Pulled up and someone was right there to take our luggage out of our car and take the car. And they had a shuttle ready to take us the airport. The whole experience took less than 20 minutes. read more

Oh boy where do I get started. To start off when we arrived to collect our car (earlier than our reservation time even) they told us that our car wouldn't be ready for another half an hour BUT if we wanted we could upgrade to a premium car (based on previous reviews this seems to be a usual tactic they use.) Once on the road we got about an hour away before realizing the windshield wiper fluid sprayers weren't working in the slightest. This was the day after a big snow storm so the roads were salted and that wound up coating our windshield. Pulling off we bought some windshield fluid thinking the tank was empty (it was, but that wasn't the main folly). After buying the fluid we then discovered that the sprayers just didn't work at all. Calling ACE to see if they had any partnerships, we were informed we would need to turn around and come back to the ACE we picked our rental up from which was an hour and a half back the way we came. With the remainder of the storm on the way, turning back would effectively mean canceling our trip. During this exchange we informed them we were heading to Ohio (this becomes important in the next part). When we arrive at our destination (Ohio) we snuggle up for a nice cozy night at our hotel, only to wake up in the morning to a message informing us we had left the states where we were permitted to take the car (huh) incurring a fee of $35 per day. Again it was mentioned to the people we called at ACE the day before we were heading to Ohio, and we received no warning from the person on the phone that heading to Ohio would be a punishable offense. Also please note it is nowhere located in your contract. It's a little tiny blurb on their policy page on their website but you have to HUNT for this information. We got a hold of the only bright spot in this company (manager Justin) who kept in contact with us the following two days. The day we received the message about the fee we contacted ACE and were told they would check the cameras at the spot we picked our car up from to see if we were warned of the fees in advance while picking up. The following day we were informed that this location didn't have their cameras operating but the worker that day said he warned us of the geo tracking and fees (he did not since that would have kinda sorta maybe alerted us to the fact we were renting from the wrong kind of place since we would be traveling outside of their coverage. Justin did what he could for us, but all in all this rental agency is a travesty to New York, let alone the country of America. read more

Apparently have to "request" a shuttle to pick you up from the airport, had to call the general customer service line to connect to the location to request a shuttle. Took around 40 mins of back and forth on the phone to even get a shuttle to come take us to the location. Extremely slow service, a line of a few people took around 45 minutes to get through. On the return of our car we were sent back into the general line, there is no individual line for drop offs. Extremely long process to return the car, was almost late to our flight. I rented here for the 1st time and the last time !!!!!!!!!!'n. Was told full car insurance was $40 a day and told standard was $30 a day with a $1500 deductible for any accidents. I asked what is the $30 coverage for . Told it was for $1500 liability. I was to use my own insurance for coverage ,if I had my complete policy with me with the brake down of full coverage liability. I told them no one walk around with that . Was given a older car which shook when changing gears . I will never use the ACE rental again one of the worst experiences I have ever had renting a car . It took 50min to get a car and I was the only one on line . Was told online system was slow . Then it took another 15 min for them to bring the car to me .
