DRM were helpful during viewings as we could, at the time, only view weekends and evenings. They accommodated us with a Saturday morning viewing. After we decided to take the flat we were asked to gather quite a number of documents, since then I have done some 'mystery shopping' (paid work) in other letting agencies and have found that this is now the norm. I imagine the Safe Deposits Scotland Scheme has something to do with it. From there it was smooth sailing and our move in day/check inventory went smoothly - Pete is lovely! Anytime we contacted DRM they were helpful and professional. One problem we did have was with a window and they organised to have it repaired in no time. Having just finished up with this company I have absolutely no complaints and wouldn't hesitate to rent with them again. (FYI - deposits etc have been sorted so this isn't me trying to get on their good side !!!)

Super helpful for mortgage advice!…read more I had unexpectedly seen a property and decided to start making enquiries about mortgages for advice. Phoned in and managed to get a same day appointment. Spent close to an hour and a half, reviewing all options regards deposits, government schemes, best lenders and their requirements. Spent time also going over my income and outgoings so come prepared to be honest. My consultant, Lisa, was in regular contact over the next few days with additional options and information. Excellent service that I'd happily recommend. Advice is free and independent but if you proceed to a mortgage in principal then the charge is £399.

Unfortunately there was some problem with the dates of rental and I wasn't able to move in the flat. Overall the JVR seems to be very good though, they don't charge you for checking references and all the paperwork, which is very unusual and the rental prices seems very good.

My two biggest complaints were the service I received when complaining, and how difficult it was to get things done. Basically, the iniquitous woman who called me (and my folks) a liar is no longer there, and neither is the landlord (not Alba, but the fella who actually owns the flat). It's a difficult situation for Alba. As tenants, we felt we didn't get the service we deserved, but as a sort of middle man, it was difficult for Alba uphold any complaints. And, frankly, I'm impressed that, after all this time, they took the time to phone me and discuss things. So now that that member of staff and that bloody landlord have gone, I reckon they might just be OK.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and shock horror they answer the phone! Which is a novelty for me following my past experiences with letting agents. They have a strict procedure for dealing with maintenance issues, which I like. I like a bit of organisation and structure, and this means they get the job done. After a few days in our new flat we discovered a few issues and emailed their maintenance department. We were told to wait 10 days for them to deal with any problems but they came out and sorted the issues in a matter of days. Score! When the direct debit for my rent was set up incorrectly with the bank, instead of charging me for late rent they were super apologetic and gave me a number of options to pay. It was very much appreciated and not what I had expected, so pleasantly surprised. No problems with Alba, would highly recommend them.

Even if my husband wasn't asthmatic and apt to needing windows open the poorly sealed double glazing and improperly secured loft-spaces meant the flat was wonderfully well ventilated throughout the year whether we wanted it so or not. We did keep an eye on the tiling seals when they began to degrade we contacted the letting agency to sort it out. They sent their man around to create some mess, not actually fix anything, then leave and things were no better. We tried again when they actually started to come off but it was just more of the same. Given we were on the top floor I wonder who had the plumbing leak above us. Should I perhaps check if God has piping issues? I have heard that prayer is a likely resort when using CL. We did contact the landlord and letting agents as we could clearly see the problems were coming both from the roof and the dividing wall to the tenement next door. Alas things got no better and we left for somewhere nice as soon as we could. PS. Do beware of any "fees" that they may charge for drawing up contracts.

shockingly bad service we have the misfortune of living…read moreabove one of their tenants and are subjected to horrific levels of music at all hours, doors being slammed in the middle of the night and generally very antisocial behaviour. after complaining the tenant was forced to put up a lip service apology note which she meant none of as after 4 days was back to her old tricks which Angus at Craigflower refused to believe because she had apologised. Shockingly bad customer service and it took them 28 days to come back on yet another complaint sent into them. I am looking to rent out our flat at the moment but they obviously have no concern for the actual owners of the flat because if they did this tenant would have been out long ago for treating the flat like party central. All they care about is getting the money in from the tenant and cant be bothered with the hard work they would have to do to replace the tenant. If you are looking to rent out your flat never ever ever use these guys as they just don't care about anything other than pound signs.
