I started using ACE last September after reading good things on NextDoor. Just a small cooking tank of propane was needed, and they responded immediately. A few months later, I needed an upgrade, and no one returned my calls - come to find out, their service manager was a real deadbeat. He has since been fired, and my current situation was addressed the same day and totally professionally by Keith, the new service manager. Very responsive, thorough and courteous. When our house ran out of home heating oil about two weeks ago, Dave and Ace Oil really came through in a pinch. Although it was off-peak hours at night on a weekend, when we called up Ace Oil to report a complete outage, Dave really responded. Although he was ticked that he had to fill something on an out of oil call from his home to the store to pick up the truck to come and fill our tank in Dutchess Co (something not many companies would do because of the bridge toll in between during inflated times), Ace Oil came through. It took about 4 voicemail calls and about an extra 45 minutes of waiting for them to arrive, but it was better after the visit. Although Ace Oil has had their prices higher than most companies during this inflation, the day they came out, the prices seem to have been cheaper - and when you factor in a Special delivery fee for out-of -oil call and a HEAP credit on the account at the time, this place was there for us when most companies would have told us "oh well." Dave came in to reset the furnace and even though our driveway isn't exactly the world's best, he managed to reset it communicating to me what needed to be done to get the furnace working again. He pardoned our house and driveway's mess and continued to take care of things as planned. read more

After purchasing home heating oil from Ace for almost a decade we had to switch companies. They must have new owners, as we suddenly started having problems with Ace last year. The new woman who started answering the phone to take orders, in the fall of 2023, is rude and snotty, as well as incompetent. Every time I called it was as though we had never ordered oil from this company before. This year, she made it clear that we were not worth having as customers, as we only got "120 gallons here and there" delivered to our home and they don't send drivers out "to deliver a few gallons". I checked our bills for the last several years - depending on the price of oil & the weather, we purchase between $3,000 - $3500 of home heating oil annually; sometimes more. They used to be so dependable and such an excellent company. I hate to make the change, but I will no longer do business with a company that thinks that someone who has purchased "only" thousands of dollars of their product on a regular basis for the last decade isn't worth doing business with. read more

These guys saved our butts because it's going to be 8 degrees tonight. We always got our oil from Sunshine and they were supposed to come yesterday and did not come. Suddenly we were out of oil! Called Sunshine starting 3 PM leaving messages, no answer, no return call and no emergency number. Called 5 companies and Ace called me back within an hour AND Dave was so wonderful! Offered to come out WITHIN THE HOUR and also will restart the furnace. He only hit me $40 for the emergency trip to my house. THANK YOU DAVE AND THANK YOU ACE OIL! You're our oil company from now on! PS 24 hours later: Dave did, indeed, come out within the hour, put in the oil and restarted the furnace. And by the way, NONE of the other companies ever called me back even though they knew I was calling with a "no oil" emergency. This makes it clear to me that the level of excellent service offered by Ace is rare. read more

We hope our experience today does not set the bar too high for ACE Oil, because no one should expect oil deliveries in under two hours like we got. We are a low volume customer (our last delivery was in 2014), but nevertheless, we did run out over the weekend. We called at 8 AM, and the oil was in our tank by 9:45 AM. To prevent our oil from getting stale (since we use so little), they even added a can of "Hot Shot." We have been a ACE customer for 19 years, and we are pleased with the superior service we received all along, despite the fact that our purchases are so infrequent. read more

Not reliable at all! They delayed delivery of our already paid for oil ...it was pending nevertheless). We called them on Thursday (spoke to Katie) n were told they WOULD DEFINITELY deliver on Friday. We also told them we were OUT OF OIL. This would have been our 4th delivery with Ace, and everytime there's been a hassle. On Friday, we got a call from Carol saying it would be delivered on NEXT TUESDAY, when asked why, she couldn't give an answer! She said she's "not sure!" We waited patiently till next Tuesday, relying only on electric heaters , then came Tuesday, and we gave Ace Oil a call, to ask for a time frame for their delivery. Spoke to Carol who said she was told by the owners that "they won't be delivering to our address because of our sloped driveway!!? When asked why they're telling us now after 2 years of oil deliveries!? One of the 3 brothers, Ed said "we'll let you know", unable to give a definite answer. Anyways, good luck to Ace Oil, but remember always that positive reviews are only generated by satisfied customers that you service professionally. We're very dissatisfied because it took 4 days (without heat in 8 degree weather) to inform us that they can't come! read more
