I've had two stereo receivers worked on by ACE, about a year apart. One was a vintage Marantz receiver they serviced and partially restored, the other a 15 year old Yamaha A/V receiver that needed an HDMI output repair. In both cases the work was excellent and their prices were reasonable. They're a small operation, so turnaround time isn't the fastest, but that's a pretty small complaint given the quality of the work. read more

My 5-year-old 65" LG TV suddenly stopped working which was quite a surprise and annoying. LG's site recommended several places to contact for repairs, none of which get very good reviews online. I contacted Ace Electronics Repairs in Phoenixville, PA as it wasn't too far for me. Tina told me on the phone that it would be $80 if I brought the TV to then or $240 (I think) if they came to me with the "deposit" to be applied to any repair, if needed. I brought them the LG TV and few days later was told it could be repaired but would take a few days for Ace to get the part needed. After a few additional days, I was contacted and told it was repaired. I picked up the TV and re-attached it to me wall and Sonos sound bar and so far, so good. Dropped off 3 CD players to have diagnosed. $80 charge per unit to do so. Received call by "technician" who told me I have 3 unique items he is unable to repair them. He also asked me if I looked up anything on the internet to see if there is a known problem on one of the units. After that conversation, I knew I took it to the wrong place. I should have read the reviews in greater detail before dropping off my equipment. I won't waste your time to read a long winded story but I would HIGHLY recommend not using them. Nice when they take your $80, then it took 6 weeks to basically tell me the unit wasn't working. No kidding that's why I dropped it off. Basically paid $80 to confirm what I already knew!. Tina and her husband are very unprofessional and rude. DONT TRUST THEM and for sure don't trust letting her husband into your homes he was very rude to my wife and she felt unsafe around him. I don't know how @Samsung authorized these people fora authorized center. My trust in Samsung has gone down. Review for Ace Electronics: Charged $60 for keeping the TV and to take a look at it. Texted me that there is a very slight chance that TV might be recycled. When I called them Tina Gervasi assured me, its very rare, they have to say it to everyone. She told me my TV was of excellent build quality and it would only take $230 to repair and fix slight lines that were showing up on the extreme left end of my TV. They were not so much of a problem. My TV was a 55 inch Samsung LED 3D flat screen Smart TV. After assuring me and asking me that its ok if they recycle the TV on a Friday evening. They said they will let me know of how things will be on Monday. They texted me late on a Saturday night they are recycling my TV. Didn't have the courtesy to call and inform. When I went on Sunday morning to their place and said that I understand its not their fault that TV died but if I could get the TV back in whatever condition it was so that I can use it for DIY stuff, Rick Gervasi went into a real temper and started shouting. I'll give them two stars because my tv is indeed fixed, but not before these two overcharged me out of the ass to do minimal work. I gave a $60 deposit that would count toward the final cost, and I was given a quote of $350... so, I owed her $290. My boyfriend went to go pick the tv up with the money owed, only to be told that total was $410 and we owed $350. They only take cash since they run their business out of their garage. In the end, we gave them an even $300. Just save yourself the trouble and take your electronics to a legitimate business. Edit: My tv was actually not repaired. They suck. They refuse my reasonable requests for proof of part(s) replaced on the tv so that I may take it elsewhere with that information. The inconsistencies with the stories they have told us in regards to a part that was ordered/needed to be ordered/already on inventory just shows me that they are giving me the go around and lying. After reading all reviews on all platforms, it's clear that we aren't the only ones who've had similar experiences. Just beware! I had to deal with 4 other incompetent "LG authorized service centers" and over 6 months of constant follow-ups with LG before they assigned my case to ACE electronics. I thought this service center is same as the others and had no hope that my TV would ever get fixed. However, things were different this time. Dealing with ACE electronics was simple and straightforward. LG assigned my case to ACE on Friday, Tina from ACE calls me on the same day and places the order for parts from LG. I get a call from Tina the following Monday telling me that they will be in my home on Wednesday to complete the repair. And yes, on Wednesday Tina and Rick showed up with new panel and the repair was completed in 20 minutes at my home. I was particularly impressed with the fact that Tina constantly kept me informed throughout the process and followed up with me regularly. This was never the case with those other "authorized" service centers I dealt with before. If LG had assigned my case the first time to ACE, I wouldn't have waited for 6 months. Do yourself a favor and ask your TV manufacturer to assign your warranty repair case to these guys. These guys are Legit. read more

My new Samsung TV was giving me all kinds of issues and Samsung kept trying to send out Home Services Inc. A one Star service company. I looked up Ace Electronics and saw they were on the service provider list for Samsung. Good reviews so I requested Samsung send them out to repair my TV. Rich showed up today and was immediately friendly and helpful. He knew exactly what to do and the whole process took about 10-15 minutes. He was great. Not a great experience. While I think the proprietor knows his electronics, I feel that the service is over-priced and not complete. I'm not inclined to makes less than positive comments but in this case I felt quite unsatisfied despite my best efforts to the contrary. I picked up a large early 1960s German table radio On Craigslist for $150 . It looked clean and the AM worked but the FM dial didn't turn. I was up for an investment and when I called I was assured that they repair these types of units all of the time, etc. I dropped it off and paid $60 to determine the problem. The result was a complete overhaul that would be in the $500 range. It was more than I had wanted to spend but I was already in...so I agreed. They went through it and charged $475 Additional. The result was OK. The dial light was not adjusted So that you could not see the FM dial well and the dial tuning itself was off by a 1 MHz or so . Two weeks later it stopped working and I brought it back. They found It needed a transformer which they found Used and installed for free. I had to pay for the part.. $50. The radio worked well for about 4 months then the radio would shut off. The push button For FM had to be pressed more firmly then it worked again. This happened several times until it did not engage the radio to play anymore. Even though the condition occurred for a month or so, it was just over 6 months before I called and so I had to pay another $60 for a look see. They were busy so I called after 4 weeks or so and when then they got to it in about a week. I was told it will be another $500... the ferrite antenna was not working ( it was when I delivered it because they had repaired it before) and one of the speakers did not work now (which was news to me because it worked when brought it back. I decided against any more work. I had to wait about 20 minutes upon picking up for them to find my special AC cord that was replaced originally and was misplaced. I was able to watch the environment for the second time at length and observed it is not a quiet atmosphere... Lots of calls and subject/concentration changes...meaning that it is hard For me to believe dedicated/concentrated labor is fully applied to a particular project. And When I got it home, I noticed a grease stain on the speaker grill cloth that I am 99% sure was not there when I took it back. So now I have a $800 radio that does not work well and has an ugly blemish. Better than a $1300 radio I guess. I realize vintage electronics have risks but have found other shops since, out of the area, that will overhaul everything to spec for $650 and warranty for 6 months. Such shops are specialists. While I believe the technician is capable, I will not go there again. read more

I took my Samsung 32" tv to be repaired here. I was debating whether to buy a new or get this one fixed. I decided to get this one fixed. The decision was made easy when all the new ones had a stand in excess of 22 inches in width. My stand can only take a 23 inch or smaller in width. All the new 32 inch Samsung had either a 27 inch or greater. I would have had to buy a new stand which might have cost me 100 dollars or more. So I had them fix it. It took only 2 days to fix it. What had happened is my led lights had burned out. They gave me a great tip for a longer lasting tv. They said turn down the backlight to 50 % of the setting. My settings goes from 0 to 20. So I now keep it at 10 as compared to 14 which I used to have it at. They said it prolong the life of the LED lights in the back. So I thought that was great advice. So far I'm very happy with the TV. They are very friendly people. I highly recommend them. read more

Avoid for repair of Vintage Electronics. It's somebody's garage in a residential neighborhood. Which made it less legitimate to begin with. They charged me $300 for very minimal work (probably because they saw how high the resale value is) and the unit did not work when I got home. I called them back to let them know and the lady was very rude and defensive over the phone. She said I could bring it back to be fixed, but any attempt to contact them after that went unanswered. I live an hour away and don't have time for the shenanigans. Do your research. read more

IF YOU WANT YOUR TV FIXED-DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!This a long story but worth the read if you plan on using them to fix your tv. I bought a tv from Best Buy not even 6 months ago and unfortunately about 2 weeks ago on Sunday 8/16 it started having issues. The tv was turning on and off by itself every 2-3 minutes. So I called Best Buy to set up a warranty repair. They chose Ace Repair to fix our tv and said that we were scheduled for Tuesday 8/18 and the company would come in home to fix it. Then later that evening I received a call from the warranty company stating the appointment was changed to Wednesday 8/19 due to the company's schedule. The next day on Monday I received a voicemail from Tina at Ace electronics repair saying that the warranty company was wrong and they couldn't get me in until Friday 8/21 and would have to come pick the tv up to take it back to their "office" to fix it because they couldn't diagnose it or fix it in house. They also said it would take about 2-3 weeks for us to receive the tv back. I called her back obviously upset about all of the appointment changes and Tina was EXTREMELY rude saying there's nothing that they could do and that it wasn't their fault and I pretty much had to deal with it. I understand things happen and gave the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward to that Wednesday and I received another voicemail from Tina stating that they could no longer pick it up on Friday and had to change the pick up to the next day on Saturday 8/22 from 12:30-2:30. Once again I didn't make it a big deal. On Saturday I waited home all day and the driver didn't get there until well after 2:30. He never called me like I originally asked to let me know he was almost there. He just showed up and knocked on our door and told us he couldn't answer any of our questions and gave us a business card and said to call them on Monday. I tried calling Monday and received no answer or call back so I decided I would wait for them to call me. Tina called on Wednesday 8/26 in the morning telling me that the tv was already done due to the fact that it was an easy fix (at first they said 2-3 weeks maybe more but it was done within a week) But she broke the news that she couldn't have anyone return the tv back to us for 2 weeks because they were booked up and going on vacation the next week. So she said we could come pick it up from their "office".We wanted our tv so we made the hour drive to Phoinexville from Reading. When we got there we realized their office was out of their garage. It looked like a giant mess and a graveyard of old TVs scattered all over. I called Tina and she wasn't even there so when we went up to the garage, her husband had no idea why we were there until we told him. He seemed extremely confused even after telling him why we were there. We got the tv in our van and secured it completely. When we got home and set it up not only was it having the same problem as before, it was worse than it was when they picked it up from us and on top of that the tv now does not have sound. I called Tina right away and she didn't answer the call, I tried 3 more times, left voicemails, and no answer. It's now almost 24 hours later and she still hasn't called back and ignored all of my calls. So I called Best Buy to tell them my situation and they agreed that more than likely Ace repair never even fixed it and just wanted to warranty money from it. They got me scheduled with another repair company immediately and they're coming out tomorrow and fixing it in house. And on top of all of this, Tina had the audacity to ask me to give her a good review knowing damn well our tv wasn't even fixed. Here's the review you wanted so badly. Hopefully everyone reads this before using them so they don't have to go through what we did. Horrible customer service, horrible repairs, just a horrible business in general. Hopefully Best Buy never uses them again and I will be contacting BBB. I truly wish I would have read reviews before hand because I'm not the only one who went through this. But it being a warranty repair company I thought they would be a good business. I was wrong. read more

I called regarding the repair of an older large TV. They offered to swing out (house call) and see what it would cost to fix. When leaving, the gentleman said he would look up the cost of the part needed to repair the TV and asked for $110 deposit against any repairs. I gave him the $110 and received a receipt that specifically listed "Deposit against future repairs". When they called back with the total to fix the TV it was way more than I was willing to spend. I then asked for my deposit back, as I would not be moving forward with any repairs. They refused to give my deposit back claiming that it was their fee for the house call. They never mentioned that this deposit was non-refundable on the phone nor in person. I plan to pursue a small claims case against them. Save yourself the trouble and deal with honest people.
