I would give this dental office a zero if I could. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go to this dental practice. I was in need of a crown and didn't have a local TVC dentist. Access Dental was able to get me in right away (red flag), whereas other practices said I would have to wait to get in...I was anxious to get the work done and had a crown put on in August of 2022. It is February 2024 and I have been suffering from their malpractice ever since (bite has been off for over a year and a half, it's 95% better but not 100%). I went to the original dentist multiple times right after having the crown placed because I knew the bite was off and subsequently over the following year, he would slightly adjust it but not enough...when I wasn't getting the results I wanted he brushed off my complaint and attributed the sensitivity to stress and advised me to drink more red wine (what?! I mean okay...happy to drink more red wine...but not exactly what a dentist should be telling you to do). He also recommended a night guard which I paid over $400 for, it did nothing (why would it when the crown was too high?). I eventually went to the other doctor (original doctor was not helping at all) and after advocating for myself to get the bite adjusted for about the 7th time--he also diminished my complaints--when I continued to press that the bite is off...he condescendingly said "where did YOU get YOUR dental degree from?" (in fact I do have a medical degree)...I retorted..."DO YOU have ANY crowns and have you ever experienced your bite being off?" To which he said, no. So, of course he doesn't underhand that YOU KNOW when the bite is off. An X-ray did indicate pulpitis (inflammation of the tooth pulp--not surprising after a year of irritation from bite being off--of course there would be inflammation which is reversible if the irritation goes away)--he pressed that I needed to see an endodontist and I would probably need a root canal. I persisted that I DID NOT need a root canal, I needed the crown to be adjusted so my teeth didn't keep hitting each other when I bit down. He finally adjusted the tooth to the point where it didn't hurt to bite and lo and behold I did not need a root canal and could finally chew on the left side of my mouth without wincing pain! The bite is still a little bit off but it is much better after I pushed and pushed to have them fix it. Both of the doctors were male and I can tell you they did not like that a woman was advocating for herself and questioning their abilities (or rather incapability)...I thought it was funny that the office staff remembered who I was and I could tell they were appalled that I would question the doctor (ALWAYS, ALWAYS advocate for yourself, you know your body best!!). So you might ask why am I writing this review now? Well, what drives the entire complaint home is that when I would go in to have the bite adjusted they would bill me/my insurance...how convenient...do a bad job and continue to bill insurance to try to fix their bad job. Insurance covered the visits up to a point and then they stopped. I felt I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket for them to adjust the bad crown but then they threatened collections on me (for $84)...this practice is awful, not just their dental practices but their front office and hygienist/assistant staff as well--they are argumentative, rude, seem half trained or really inexperienced, not sure which. The office itself is straight out of the 80's--out of date equipment, dirty waiting room, dingy carpet, wood paneling, even 80's music on the speaker. I have given them over a year (and thousands of dollars) to redeem themselves (shame on me) and after just getting off the phone with them and paying the $84 I told them I'd be writing this review. I'll also be contacting insurance to tell them about their malpractice and shady dental billing practices...save yourself the trouble and just wait the wait for the 5 star dental practices... read more
