I had the worst shopping experience ever with The Brick Coquitlam (3000 Lougheed Hwy). On May 15,…read more2025, I purchased a sofa with financing. From that day until now (October 2 - more than 140 days later), the sofa has never been delivered. The problems started right away. They pressured us with a "special one-day promotion" and promised a $200 discount if we bought an extra item. We trusted them and bought a coffee table, but the discount was never applied. When I followed up, they simply denied ever saying it. That is dishonest. They also sent us "gifts" (a soundbar and pillows) we never asked for. Later, when we tried to cancel the order after endless delays, the manager said we could not cancel unless we paid $400 for those so-called gifts. Even when we offered to return them unused (because of poor quality), they refused and said they were "final sale." This is unacceptable. Every delivery promise was broken. July, then August, then "it has shipped" in September -- but still nothing. The manager made empty promises and never called back. Meanwhile, payments started in June and The Brick has been taking my money without delivering the sofa. The Brick has shown dishonesty, false promises, and terrible customer service. I will never shop here again and strongly warn others not to trust this store

I had forwarded details of what we wanted -- re: a fridge and freezer -- and she placed the order with The Brick there. The Daughter then went to her nearest store here, paid for the items, and the order was transferred, all further communications and such came to us from this Coquitlam store. Though it took considerable time to acquire what we had ordered (due to back-ordering of one of the products), the store kept us well-informed of what was happening, and eventually all went well, along with a smooth and accommodating delivery to top it off. The old fridge had done its thing fir a long while, but it finally gave up and needed replacement. At the same time, we thought it would useful to add a small chest freezer to the place (a replacement for an old one which quit a year or so ago). So two new shiny appliances to use and enjoy -- a Frigidaire 12 cu ft, top mount freezer 'apartment-sized' refrigerator, and Frigidaire 5 cu ft chest freezer. We are both happy with selections made, and the total shopping experience received from 'The Brick'.

I love to shop local and seeing so many Canadian products that the store promotes is refreshing to say the least. Having a small business in this day and age is extremely hard and I applaud this store for it's longevity in the village, they have been there since as long as I can remember. Obviously the owner has an amazing talent for choosing very unique items and I have purchased many gifts but usually also walk out with some beautiful clothing or jewelry for myself as well lol ... also always enjoy the friendly staff who have on many occasions steered me in the right direction and then to top it off, gift wrapped my selection too! Win Win all the way! PS the new Houston Llew tile selection is amazing.

Wish On A Star fits in perfectly with the life of the village. Lots of great gifts for any occasion. Pet, guys, wedding, baby, bath, body and of course furnishings adorn this store. The best part is that all of the gifts are wrapped with lovely scented potpourri, tissue and ribbons. If you buy a gift from here, it will likely be the one on the gift table that's admired while the recipient carefully opens and saves the wrapping to use again. And if that wasn't enough, there's two love birds that live in a cage, chirping away while you admire all of the lovelies.

Jysk Linen 'n Furniture - Bought "brand new" sheets.... I think not.

This one was on par with the King Edward Street location in terms of friendliness and helpfulness. Good selection of candles and blankets too! I would totally recommend them and the staff were lovely (especially in comparison to the Pitt Meadows location!)

If not coordinated at least a close color match for the red. Unfortunately, they carry ONE set of sheets in red and they're only available in one size - queen! The majority of draperies were either black, grey, white, or blue. A few panels in purple and one burgundy; all being over 84" long! Deciding to take the easiest option the drapes were skipped and a set of black microfiber sheets were purchased. The girl at the register said explicitly, "absolutely no returns, refunds, or exchanges on bedding once the package has been opened". That should have been a warning to not buy them. Got home and put my new sheets into the machine (cold water, gentle cycle), then low setting tumble dry. Every stitch has tightened causing the edges to gather and one pillow case literally feel apart at the seams; can't be used at all. They're so thin you can see through them and any softness they had is long gone. Better quality sheets could have been purchased at their big box competition for a far better price. That's the first time I've been to JYSK in over a year, simply because a location was not convenient. The quality of product has plummeted to a level unmatched by any other local retailer and, based on the policy, they are well aware of that fact. Never, ever again!

Finished product not as expected: warped table tops and wrong colour…read more We were excited to find a place that made custom solid wood pieces, and locally! Unfortunately, we are sadly disappointed with our experience here. When we sat in the showroom and discussed with the salesperson the design of the coffee and end tables, we sat down on the display couch which is the same model as we have in our home. We specified that we were ordering the tables to match the couch and said that our couch legs were espresso (as per their couch on display). The salesperson wrote espresso on the order; however, neglected to offer to show us a colour sample to select from, which would clearly show that their espresso was a different colour. When we received it, not only was the colour wrong, but the table tops were warped. I have photos showing the extensive warping and the colour mismatch. However, Yelp has removed the photos as it is against their guidelines for me to post photos which support my review. I do still have the photos available. They said they would have the builder fix the warping, but that we would have to pay for the restaining of the tables! All in all, the owner, Blair, rectified their errors. They added supports within the tabletops to correct the warping. Although Blair was not present at the time the salesperson took our order, he passes the colour error onto us. Unfortunately when we ordered our tables the salesperson did not have a system in place confirming that we had seen and received a colour sample. Our sign off was simply agreeing to "espresso" written by the salesperson on the quote and invoice. In the end, we paid an additional $168 to have the colour corrected for both of the tables. This amount was more than what was originally quoted to us, as there was no mention of a custom stain charge at the time we placed our order.

After several weeks of searching for a new sofa, we came into Creative Home Furnishings and got a…read morefew ideas. After a couple weeks pass by we are finally ready to make our purchase, a locally made Stylus sectional. The price was a bit better than other places we checked out that sold Stylus. We mainly worked with Garreth, who seemed to be still a little new as he had to go to the boss for some of our questions. No big deal because I'd rather him do that than give us incorrect information. After we we decided on fabric, we were told that the fabric might potentially be on back order. Sure enough, a few days later we get a call indicating that the fabric is on back order and that we would have to wait a few months unless we go for another fabric. We didn't like any of the other fabrics so we decided to wait. When speaking to Garreth over the phone, he did say sometimes the fabric does come in early. I didn't believe it, but to our surprise, the sofa was ready a few weeks before the estimated date they gave us. I'm not sure how much of that is Stylus actually receiving the fabric earlier than expected, or Creative over estimating the date. Maybe both. Either way, we were happy. The only thing I would take a star off on is a little bit of disorganization. We came in twice and made our purchase the second visit. A month later I received a call from the boss asking if we're still interested in the sofa. Well... we already ordered it and at this point, it was well past the date we were notified that it would be on back order. I think she was following up from our first visit, but it should have been noted that we already came back and made the purchase. They also took down both my and my wife's phone number. So every time they called us, they called us twice. We'd be at home and my wife would take the call. Then right after, they would call me. Or they would leave her a voice mail and then call me saying the exact same thing. I don't know, maybe some people prefer that, but it's a bit redundant if we're living in the same household. Overall, the service and quality of product is pretty good here. I would recommend it if you're willing to spend a bit more to get a quality product as all their furniture is solid wood.
