They have done several pieces for us and our experience has been mixed. They reupholstered a sofa…read morefor us and the work was excellent. They did three Pearsall chairs for us and the communication and workmanship were poor. Pictures below speak for the quality of work. We took a pair of rocking Pearsall chairs to them and Richard told us that he needs to open the chairs before he can give us an estimate and he would get back to us by the mid week with an estimate. He also mentioned that for one chair, the foam probably doesn't need to be replaced. I asked him for the extra cost for replacing the foam and he mentioned that $85. I asked him to replaced the foam on both chairs as I wanted them to look the same. We didn't hear from him by midweek for the estimate so we contacted them at the end of the week. We were told that they have already finished both chairs. We picked them up and they have several issues. He has drilled a hole in one chair and you can see the wood split. He also didn't replaced the foam on one of the chairs so the two finished chairs look very different from each other. The other Pearsall chair that they did for us has several supporting brackets and screws completely visible. Very disappointed in them.

WOW. I am so beyond pleased with JC's. Camilla (spelling?) helped us pick out fabrics and even talked us through what the different things mean and what ratings would be good for a dining room etc. they were quick, friendly, professional, and I feel went above and beyond. Truly couldn't be happier.

If you are the Harrells upholstery that had a shop on the west side over 30 years ago. I have been…read moresinging your praises. You reupholstered a nine foot chesterfield sofa in faux leather that has lasted 37 years! The only reason I am having it redone, is we had cats who enjoyed clawing it as much as we enjoyed sitting. I'm hoping Mr. Harrell, who did my work, and is probably at least 70, if not older by now, passed on his workmanship, skill and work ethic to the family that have taken the reins. I'd upload a picture, but I'm not that savvy. Sincerely, Rita Morris (It was Hayden in 1981)

Harrell's destroyed my furniture!…read more I purchased a brand new bed bench from Target back in March for around 200 bucks. I hated the ugly Taupe color upholstery so I immediately starting looking for a shop that could reupholster it. I found Harrell's here on Yelp and was thrilled that there was at least one positive review. After calling and speaking with Harrell's I knew immediately I wanted to hire him, he was friendly, welcoming, and was eager to answer any questions I had. Now the trouble begins.... I was initially told that my bench would be ready in 2-3 weeks, but 3 weeks turned to 6 weeks, and I had to call them twice to inquire about a completion date. Finally a few days after my last telephone call to them, I received a call from his daughter saying that the finished the bench. She said since I had been waiting so long they decided to just get it done for me. Clear indication that they probably rush through it. When I got to the store I was so excited to see the finished product, the fabric looked wonderful. However, when I started to inspect my bench further the paint on the legs were completely chipped all over, and a closer inspection showed dents all over the frame of the bench. I couldn't friggin believe it. On top of it I have three people standing there looking me in my face acting dumbfounded like they don't know what happened. This was a brand new bench that I assembled myself, so no one else handled it other than myself and Harrell's. Why on Earth would I buy a brand new bench with dings, dents, and peeling paint, and then spend another 200 bunch to reupholstery first in that condition? The fabric would have to be completely removed to repair the outer frame damage. There is also fabric overlapping the nailhead trim, which again shows a rush unskilled job. On the inside of the dust cover, there is dust, rust, and an odor coming from the bench. The only solace I have is knowing that this wasn't my 2900.00 lounge chair I planned to have them reupholstery. On top of it all, his daughter then had the nerve to tell me that only once in 10 or 20 years they have had something like this happen, and how they handle antiques all the time. BS! They showed no care for my furniture at all. Near the nailheads on the bench you can see half moon hammer dents all over the wood. It's utterly disgusting they damaged my bench and then pretended that they hadn't. Have the balls to admit you screwed up. Then try to resolve the issue with the customer. They offered me a measly 23 dollar discount on a bench that I might as well toss in the garbage now that they have ruined it. I would never trust anything I own to these people. If you are foolish enough to use them, then you better take time stamped before photos in case you need to take them to court later. Do yourself a favor and take your furniture to someone who understand that each piece of furniture is valuable to it's owner, no matter the cost.
