I called to get a routine form signed and Deborah Horne and the other doctors refused to do so. Even though all it confirmed is that my son has a condition that they treated! When I call they refused to speak with me. Instead, they hid behind reception and just pass messages through them. Even when I explicitly asked to speak with the individual whom I've paid for services, Deborah Horne, I'm told that that is not possible. Disgusting. Dr. Zeller and his staff are fantastic. They genuinely care for their patients and are always looking out for their best interests. Dr. Zeller, in particular, is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about endocrine care, and he is determined to refine the patient's treatment plan to achieve optimal results. His commitment to his patient's care is unparalleled, and he is truly one of the most brilliant minds in the industry. My daughter sees him for Type 1 Diabetes, and we have learned so much while under his care and also substantially improved her blood glucose range. I understand there have been some staffing issues with Covid that have lead to frustrations with appt setting, longer response wait times, etc., but that is not a reason to give this great practice a bad name- particularly because they have provided such excellent care for years prior to Covid. Efficient but not welcoming. This location has award-winning doctors in a traditional medical office space. Being a former janitor, I noticed that the floors were very clean even in the corners and behind the equipment. All of the doctors are associated with Northwestern Medicine, which offers electronic access to my records via a patient portal, direct insurance billing, and local hospitals. I subtracted a star because only 2 out 7 greeters that I interacted with were friendly. read more

Today was my daughter's first visit. Dr Zeller was so warm & kind. He was very good. I would highly recommend Dr Zeller

When we were first told this would be where our son's endocrinologist would be, we knew nothing about this place. We did really like Carrie Zimmer though. Then after a couple of years, she left. No heads up about that. Just your new one will be this random person. Saw the new person 1 time the next scheduled appointment, they cancelled on us. The second, they cancelled again. Waiting to get set up with a new endo, but I highly recommend NOT going to this place. Always fishy to me when companies change their name too. Like what did you do? I had to call 16 times today to get a prescription for Lantus called in after his pump quit working last night. Yes 16 times, hopefully that is the last. Forever. read more

I gave three stars because I loved Dr. Skjei (he has since moved out of state). His nurse is awful, their staff are the most unhelpful people I have ever encountered. I endured due to liking the doctor but I'm going back to DMG. I had my last appointment in May, and nobody has contacted me to schedule with a replacement doctor. Don't recommend! Dr's are uncaring and their office is very rude. They kept sending us the same full price bill and threatening to send us to collections. Each time we called about it to explain that we haven't even received an explanation of Benefits, which would validate that they submitted to insurance, every phone call would end with, oh you're right, let's get this sent to insurance. Weeks later each time, another full price bill, another call to them. Very frustrating experience, incompetence, and rude on top of it. read more

My child has been going here since he was a baby for T1D. He no longer has insurance and the doctor will not treat him because of this. Absolutely unethical. All they care about is money, not the welfare of their patients. . Be careful they charge you for EVERYTHING . even paperwork. Going to find a different doctor. Made my son feel insulted and not important.Also he needed refills on his meds. Insulin being the most important. But they will not give you refills without seeing the doctor. Catch 22 situation. i guess those without insurance are lesser people. Shameful. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The receptionist not only was rude and hung up on me, but when I called back was refusing me medical care even though they accept my insurance. She would not let me make an appointment with any of the doctors. I need medical care and am refused. This will be reported. read more

I love the doctors, and the care given to my daughter. Top notch in that regard. Trying to call the office is atrocious! They have voice mail of course, and a nice patient portal where you can leave messages and converse back in forth with the medical staff...but on the occasions when you need to talk to somebody about non-emergency topics, you will have a very hard time getting somebody on the phone! I'm fairly certain that I could have made the 1.5 hour round trip faster than getting somebody on the phone! It's awful service in that regard. read more

This is an office all about the money. There is no compassion, no cooperation. Only worked with them for six months before the doctor I was seeing moved out of state. In that time he had me come in for several visits which were unnecessary for my condition, and he'd usually tell me about how they were struggling to replace him because "the money had dried up". Their favorite diagnosis: "It's fine." Don't expect anyone to read labs or otherwise for you. Their assessment is always the same. Don't expect that they will explain ANYTHING just open your wallet. After I had left the practice already, the doctor who is only part-time and becoming my new doctor, reached out two full months later through the PA at the practice to tell me my lab work was "Fine." Seriously, I don't know what their specialty actually, most endos are just diabetes doctors anyway, I have a different endocrine problem, but I suggest avoiding this group if you can. They need to close this practice and start new practices away from this unbelievably poor level of care. This is just an echo chamber of ignorance and disregard. read more

I don't know anything about the other reviewer, but I've had a completely different experience with Dr. Zimmer. She's seen my daughter for a couple of years, and she couldn't be nicer or more competent. She never fails to engage my daughter, even talking and joking with my other child who isn't even her patient. She takes the time to explain things thoroughly, answers all of our questions, and genuinely seems to have my daughter's best interests at heart. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it can be difficult to get an appointment with her, especially at the Naperville location, due to limited office hours (I can't speak to the availability of the other doctors in the practice). Even so, I would recommend Dr. Zimmer without hesitation. read more

We had an appointment with Carrie Zimmer, one of the doctors. I must begin by saying this was the most horrific and traumatic experiences of my life. She is a terrible person. She has absolutely no bedside manners, i mean how is that even possible, when you are dealing with kids. She behaved so badly with my child. She was downright condescending and mean to her. This is a child we are talking about and the doctor concerned should ideally be trained how to deal with children. She is a pediatric Endocrinologist for pete's sake. There are several other Pediatric Endocrinologists available who are more empathic and pleasant than this horrible lady. Please for the sake of your children, do not go to Carrie Zimmer EVER. Save them the trauma and humiliation. I don't think my child will recover anytime soon from the mental trauma she caused to her. what a waste of time!!! read more
