We were met on the back patio by Anna, with an appetizer and our choice of a glass of wine or a nonalcoholic beverage. She gave us a little bit of history about the restaurant (Egastronomi), which had been a former chapel and rectory and which they had purchased and converted! Afterwards, we moved inside the restaurant to be seated for our lunch. There was such a light and airy feel, to the tastefully decorated venue. Niklas (a top chef in Sweden!) properly introduced himself and his wife (Anna), as well as their more than capable staff! He proceeded to briefly share his thoughts on the importance of using local resources for the restaurant. Then, they proceeded to prepare and serve our lunch. I had ordered the beef, which was tender and juicy, with an otherworldly flavor!! (There are a few entertaining pictures I took of Niklas searing the beef before serving it up!) The luncheon was served with a cucumber salad, and beets over potatoes. The dessert was delightful as well, a berry mousse with a slice of lightly buttered and toasted cornbread and a side of local berries!! What a wonderful experience all around! Do yourself a favor and visit this worthwhile establishment! It may be off the beaten path, but life is about the journey, and this destination is well worth the trip!
