While her teacher was very sweet, my family and I were extremely disappointed with the overall recital experience. I completely understand that young children won't perform perfectly, but these routines were practiced for months and many of the dancers genuinely looked lost on stage. Most of the kids were staring offstage at their teacher the entire time for direction, and the performances overall seemed very unprepared and disorganized. Unfortunately, it wasn't just the younger classes either -- several of the older groups also appeared confused and messy during their routines. In my opinion, a large part of the issue was that the recital dances were not started early enough in the year for the kids to feel confident and prepared. To make matters worse, tickets were $20 per person for a recital held at the studio itself, which felt excessive considering the quality of the production. We also paid an additional $15 for a recital video link that still has not been sent out 4 days later, and there was no communication that there would be a delay. Had I known, I would have just recorded it myself. I'm not usually someone who leaves negative reviews, but I also noticed there weren't many realistic parent reviews available, so I wanted to share my honest experience for other families considering this studio. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Very organized, easy to make monthly payments through their parent portal. The staff is super nice and very professional. Their prices are very reasonable and the owner Melanie is the nicest person you will ever meet. They have cameras inside each of the studios so you can watch on a TV screen in the waiting area. The building is very nice and located in a great part of Greenville. I highly recommend this place for parents who's children want a great experience and get a great knowledge of dance.

Amy, Kim, and all of the other teachers are not only incredibly skilled, but also genuinely caring and thoughtful. They take the time to really get to know each student- understanding their individual strengths and helping them grow both as dancers and as young people. The atmosphere is warm and encouraging, never high-pressure. It's clear that the focus is not just on excellent technique, which they absolutely provide, but also on building character, confidence, and poise. Our daughter has gained so much more than just dance training here- she has developed lifelong values and a deep love for the art form. What an absolute disgrace the "new" Cornerstone Ballet in Simpsonville is…read more Yesterday, while the studio is "closed" for Christmas break we received a billing statement. They had the nerve to bill us for recital fees twice for $125 (not including show tickets) that were already paid according to their billing statement. The fee includes costume and venue RENTAL! Next, they overcharged us - almost doubled the payment - every single month since the start of the year. We caught it, and their bill stated we still owed $125. We contacted the owner about this and another concern, the age of the dancers in the class. After "observation week" last Thursday we questioned the owner Amy at the time of the billing issues why the "6-8 experienced ballet class" only had two students this age (the others looked about 4 and were definitely below six, even wearing different colored leotards to represent their "age per the website dress code). We were denied a phone call to discuss this and other billing questions. The "refunded" money from the overcharge wasn't even directly refunded to our bank account! They actually "credited" the dance account and kept all the extra money for themselves - in advance). Despite all of the errors and dishonesty, we were told by the owner Amy over text to speak to her employee when they return after break. We explained how disappointed we are (over text) in response to the owner, and that we deserve a simple phone call. We also asked for an updated invoice before the end of the break so we could confirm the financials were correct. Today we received a passive aggressive email stating that the students were at least six years old (we have video of the students who are clearly 4 years old wearing the light blue uniform for students ages 4-5) and Amy, the owner, kicked my daughter out VIA EMAIL ! She cited we are not a good "fit." Yup, an eight year old was kicked out because they were unwilling to have a simple conversation "over break" and resolve the matter. My 6-year-old daughter was on their competitive dance teams. She asked to go to the bathroom during…read morea 2-hour dance team rehearsal. The kids drink water from their bottles all of class as they are thirsty. Other students had been allowed to go to the bathroom but her teacher would not allow her to go. Well, about 15 minutes later, my daughter started crying because she was in pain. The teacher yelled at her and called her a baby for crying and finally let her go. I texted and e-mailed the studio manager and owner several times. I received no response for several days. My daughter's dance contract said that she could not miss regardless or she was off the team. The next day she had to attend class with the same teacher for 2.5 hours. My daughter told me that the teacher had started hurting her. The teacher was grabbing my daughter's hands and wrists during class pretending that she was helping her dance and squeezing her very tightly. . . . I did not let my daughter return. I had to take her to the doctor twice and to urgent care once to have her arms and wrists looked at and to be treated for the bladder infection that was created because her teacher would not allow her to go the bathroom when she needed. The school breached the dance contract by not maintaining the safety of my daughter. The owner e-mailed that she would be returning the rest of my daughter's dance team payments to me after I said that I would not be sending her back. She never sent me anything.
