Two years ago I needed to have my roof reshingled due to a storm. I contracted with Armour Roofing…read moreto do this work. Many of my plants got trampled and destroyed by the workers. My chain link fence got bent. Upon completion of the work, for several months I found nails in my yard. He offered to replace the plants and I said it wouldn't be necessary. They were perennials and I felt it wouldn't be fair to ask him to pay for something that would come back the following spring. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to keep a good rapport with him and a good working relationship because I felt there was potential there and I was willing to give him a chance on another project. Last year he re-sided my house and put new windows in. There was a great deal of miscommunication. I found out I had to be very vigilant or I would have ended up with a different entryway roofline than I wanted, different doors and many other things. He built a new entry way which included a new front door. The door was pre-hung in a 2x4 frame, the door opening was 2x6. He claimed he did not feel comfortable with his skills to trim the doorway and asked me to get a separate contractor to do that work and he would reimburse them. I could not find another contractor who was willing to get involved in the situation. I asked Ryan to complete the previously agreed upon work, and he agreed. That was in May, as of August he still had not done so. He was paid in full before he even completed the work. I finally found someone who would do it because I wanted nothing further to do with him and didn't want him coming anywhere near my house again. Last evening I found one of the brand new windows, which were installed less than a year ago, was leaking. I had water running from the window frame down my walls, damaging the insulation and sheetrock. New windows should not leak. I got a local contractor to come over and immediately get it fixed so it would stop leaking. I contacted Ryan and explained the situation to him. I told him that I was having it repaired and I would submit the bill for the repairs to him for reimbursement. He stated he would not pay for that and it was not his fault. Do not use Armour Roofing! Poor work ethic, poor communication, poor follow through and completion, doesn't stand behind his work.

I made the massive mistake of hiring his company to do some dirt work, lay some concrete, and remove and replace a retaining wall in my yard. It was a $12k estimate. Things started off fine, and demolition was accomplished in one day. Then when they poured the concrete, he claimed the concrete itself cured too quickly for them to properly finish it. They blamed Standard Concrete. Suits from this company came out and inspected the concrete and found nothing wrong with it, but Ryan said he wouldn't put his name on the work, and came out and tore up most of it without my permission. He ruined my entire backyard with his skid steer while doing it. His guys framed to repour, but then he quit working and kept asking for more money. I ended up paying the $12k estimate in full just to get him to come finish the job, but even that wasn't enough. He now wanted more money than that, and refused to complete any more work. He was awful to me and treated me horribly, and at one point even texted me "F*** you" among other things. I still have every text he sent me for proof. I finally refused to work with him anymore. I only got the retaining wall removed, my backyard destroyed, and maybe 100 foot of sidewalk done for $12k. I hired another company to complete the job because I couldn't stand the thought of seeing or talking to Ryan again. He's truly an awful person.
