It's hard to put my finger on it, but there's a warmer atmosphere and lighting here - immediately when you walk in it just feels welcoming - whereas Bauhaus feels somewhat less appealing. Prices are good, the selection is great and the staff members are plenty and extremely forthcoming. They will lend you a yardstick if you need one and know their goods inside out. If they're out of a product it might take a week and a half for them to get it back in stock which is probably one of the reasons they can have such good prices - they save money on bulk orders. It's not easy to get there but if I need anything for home improvement and have access to a car, I head to Hornbach!

He told us about how he left Iraq as a young teenager, ending up in Sweden. A harrowing tale. He is writing a book, which I hope someday to read. The business has a wonderful, welcoming feel.
