Just a hop skip and a jump from the hotel and we came accross this place,from the outside it just looked like a shop that sold a stupid amount of the green fairy juice,but as it turned out it was also a little bar that sold a stupid amount of green fairy juice. A nice little menu with descriptions of the different qualities of Absinthe was a nice touch,as was the taste of the stuff too. This place specializes in one thing and it does it well. It is not a big place and is not a place to get food. You come here to drink and buy Absinthe. There are many to sample and many more to choose from. The workers are helpful and understand English well. Drink a couple here and talk to people in the quaint surroundings. Buy a bottle on your way out for the ride home. Comes in nice packaging with padding. read more

All my life I've done absinthe wrong it seems, or at least had poor absinthe. The folks at this liquor Depot will show you the way. It's a fairly small location, but has an extensive absinthe selection, with the staff very knowledgeable about the flavour profiles of each. They recommended a couple orders to our group as well. It's not really a bar though, as it's well lit, and you can see and buy bottles of the shelves to take home. No pictures though! After having made our orders, we were able to snag a high top space (there's no seating) and wait for our drinks and the rest of our party to arrive. Contrary to how I've always had it, over a burning sugar cube, it came in a glass with it already mixed and ready to drink. It was a great light and refreshing cocktail, and I readily ordered another before heading out for the night. Who knew that absinthe could be tasty and refreshing? This place has cool decor which prompted me enter to buy a small bottle for the friend who would have loved the bar. However, I find it dishonest that the merchant rang up my credit card in USD without giving me the choice to pay in Euros. Which means I paid an additional 3%. Shame on me for not looking at the credit slip before signing. But this goes to show that most merchants I've encountered in my travels are honest. Lesson learned. What sucks most is I intended to go back to buy a second bottle for another friend when I had more time to browse as I was in initially in a rush. read more

This is a very unique place. Hard to find these days places specialized in one sort of thing. And this place is not only specialized but also in an unique and not so popular thing (such as whisky, wine etc). The Absyth. The sell an incredible number of labels from different countries as well as proper glassware for serving the Absynth. For all these I think it deserves 5 stars. Prices are very affordable. read more

We so aren't Absinthe Drinkers on a regular basis but when in Germany... Clearly we were up for trying new things. This is a very eclectic and beautiful bar with more choices of absinthe than I even knew was possible. While I probably won't be an absinthe drinker again, it's definitely worth checking out. read more

Best place in Berlin to drink a glass of Absinthe. They have a great selection of various Absinthe bottles if want to buy something. The staff is very knowledgeable and can give good recommendations. Smoking is allowed inside. read more

Not a cocktail bar. But a bloody superb off license where you can pick up all sorts (hundreds) of Absinthe and if you're lucky, have a little try before you buy. We were already fairly far gone by the time coming in this shop seemed like a good idea, so I'll skip the details on the drink. Seemed pretty nice though. Just down the straße from Casa Camper, our base for the weekend, is a tiny but perfectly formed little bar that is full of green fairy dust. The Absinthe Depot is one of Berlin's little gems. From the knowledgeable and friendly staff to the mind boggling array of absinthe varieties covering one whole wall and most of the rest of the room, it is a heartbeat away from a step back in time to the glory days of the subversive aromatic spirit. The menu is short and beautifully descriptive, and having found my namesake absinthe, Angelique, (68% alcohol, 30-35 mg Thujone, 4cl with ice and water) it just had to be sampled. More drinks followed, cigarettes were smoked and a take home bottle was purchased. We left without buying a beautiful absinthe spoon or water fountain, even though I tried really hard to justify spending stupid money on a stunning skull topped one but the memories of herbal silly juice and a cool and stylish bar you can smoke in will stay with me for a good long while. read more

Fantastic decor, lovely ambience, huge selection of drinks - not just absinthe but also some beers that are hard to get in other places. Very friendly service with endless patience for my banal absinthe-beginner questions. It's like entering another world - wonderful. read more
