This place is polarizing...I can imagine that people love it or hate it. Fellow "collectors" will love browsing through the piles of treasures and chatting with the store owner about their latest finds, estate sales and vintage collections. Minimalists will feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff found in here and the seeming lack of organization. I find myself in the minimalist camp, but I can appreciate the fun that can be found in admiring old items and imagining the history that they hold. I just might stick to the aisles that are a little less cluttered. read more

I can't recommend Abode enough! Local artist and one of my favorite singers, Mindy Gledhill launched a collab collection with Abode recently. Despite not being able to visit the store due to covid restrictions in my area, the owner Miriam and her staff coordinated with me so I could buy a couple of the beautiful dresses from this collection! They were so kind and accommodating through all the calls and texts! I received my dresses so quickly and packed well :) I can't wait until it's safe to travel again so I can stop in to add more unique and magical dresses to my collection. Be kind by supporting small and local businesses like Abode and by reusing and repurposing vintage treasures rather than buying new fast fashion! So disappointed. Couldn't wait to come shopping here after work and drove here to see a sign in the window that said "Closed Today." Such a bummer. There were lights on so I looked inside and was viewing so many things I was interested in looking at. I noticed someone sitting on the floor inside and I asked if they were open and she said they were closed today. So sadly, I went back to my car and went home, but decided to return the next day. I called and the phone just went to voice mail, but I still decided to venture over after work again today. My heart saddened when I drove into the parking area and did not see their Open sign lit up! I guess I am not supposed to ever shop here, as the familiar "Closed Today" sign was up again, and the lights were even off this time. Will the third time be a charm? Maybe we will see... read more

This is a total hidden gem in Millcreek - so small and unassuming from the road, but packed full of treasures inside (including a basement full of collectibles!) Abode is definitely one of the best vintage stores in Salt Lake. There is a tiny parking lot out front, and then you walk into a vintage paradise - lots of large and small furniture items, housewares, shoes, jewelry, children's collectibles and clothing, vintage books, yarn and knitting in the back, more rusty and fun finds down the staircase in the basement. It's really crammed full but still easy to walk through and browse. I loved the racks of clothing in the back - perfect vintage dresses that are amazing prices ($10 for a perfect-quality dress?!) instead of the crazy inflated prices some of the new "vintage" stores are boasting. The lady working there was friendly and helpful but not overbearing at all - she had the perfect demeanor for a store where you want to browse quietly and thoroughly but also might have some questions. I was very impressed by the curating - almost every item I saw I loved, which is so rare these days in vintage stores! And so affordable. I will be back and want to keep this secret of Abode to myself but it's just too great a place to not share. read more

One persons trash is another's treasure holds true when treading lightly through Abode. Peruse past peculiar pieces and wonder what they are, or were. Reminisce through childhood as you see things you had once played with and then parted ways. A variety of vintage finds: from housewares to Hummels will greet you as you stumble in awe that 1) someone kept this stuff! 2) you can now own what was once yours - again! A trip to the basement provides fabulous fodder for a "throwback to the seventies" night, or sixties, or ... Wait: vintage Christian Dior lingerie, still sporting the original tag of $125. This is what happens when grandma buys things and they hang in the closet for decades: they find their way here! Just pack it in one of the vintage suitcases and off you go. Great place for set designers, photographers, and fans of the forgotten but found again. read more

My husband and I just went to Adobe and their open sign wasn't lit up. It was 11:30. We thought that maybe they opened at noon. I walked up to there hours posted on the door and discovered they should have been opened at 11:00. I tried the door in case they just hadn't lit their sign. No luck!! We were very disappointed. Not sure we'll make it again! Hopefully a family emergency didn't keep them away. read more

Lady here was friendly. This place is really cool. Has a lot of vintage items and some in the basement. I found it disorganized but overall had a good shopping trip. I was able to pull some old comics for cheap. There was a few other items I wanted but didn't end up getting. There's a corner with vintage wedding dresses if that's something you're interested in. read more

I absolutely adore Abode Vintage! I've loved every location they've been at- and the new store is bright and easy to navigate. It's tucked into the corner of the big parking lot off of 2700 E. Right next to the laundromat. They were recently closed for about a week to change the floor up a bit and WOW! It made such a difference. It was already a wonderful store, but now there is someone right up front to say hello! The owner and employees are so friendly and helpful. Their inventory is quality and clean. Like most vintage shops, there's lots to look through! But it's worth it! LOVE! read more

This is by far the best vintage/ antique/ thrift store I've found. We travel the country for great unique pieces, and this place has it all. If you're looking for great finds this is the place.
