She was my OBGYN. Very rude and judgemental due to my husband leaving me! He wasn't there at the delivery because he had left me for another woman. Dr.A saw he clearly wasn't coming and said, "well, is your husband showing up?" She made this comment out of sheer spite and lack of empathy. There were a few other attitudes and comments from her but I won't even go there. I will never forget that experience and delivery! Life has moved on and gotten far better but I will always remember her cruelness. read more

Dr. Abitz was my gynecologist for several years. She was always very professional in her dealings with me. The rating of four stars is for Dr. Abitz. I do have a few complaints to share regarding the OB/GYN Department's receptionists. I had a problem where my period started on time, but then I kept bleeding for a couple weeks. I called the office, explained the situation, and said I needed to see Dr. Abitz. The receptionist asked if I was pregnant and because I said "no," the receptionist said I would have to wait a month to see Dr. Abitz. This was unacceptable, but she would not let me see Dr. Abitz sooner. I had to see a nurse. After testing was done, I found out I was pregnant and it was an ectopic pregnancy. After seeing the nurse and finding out I was pregnant, I had to be seen by and counseled by a gynecologist I did not know. The next time I saw Dr. Abitz for an annual visit, she asked why they hadn't called her. Based on her question, I believe the receptionist should have allowed me to see Dr. Abitz instead of making me see a nurse and then a new gynecologist. Another strange incident involved a receptionist with short red hair (I think her name is Pam). When I arrived to check in for a visit, I told her all of my information was current, nothing had changed. However, she insisted on attempting to state my address LOUDLY, so everyone in the small waiting room could hear it. I interrupted her each time she started to try to say my address and she finally gave up. I am not sure why she wanted to say my address in a LOUD voice, but it was extremely odd. read more
