Wow. I have subscribed to the reporter news for over 20 years. I like an old school newspaper laid out in front of me and my coffee. But all good things come to an end. I subscribe 6 months at a time and my last 3 statements have been wrong. I call and argue but they are never wrong, so they say. Well, my new statement is here, and guess what, it's WRONG! And price is going up 18 %. So I called, was on hold over 35 minutes, and got to talk to Dave. Dave understood what I was saying. Dave said my math was correct, BUT that's not what the account says. And the account is always right. So, after over 20 years, I'm ending my subscription, because I'll let you screw me for a while, but not forever. I'm actually sad, cause I like my newspaper! I have subscribed to ARN for years with same carrier to our rural address for years. He quit for a better job and we started having problems with missed papers. Over the past 2 yrs it has gotten even worse. On 8/2/2021 I dropped weekly papers and started online for $10.81 per month. Happy with this, but my husband wanted Sunday only delivered. Subscribed to Sunday only home delivery also for $23.18 per month. Carrier stopped delivery after one paper. Canceled Sunday paper mid-August. It is still being to credit card the 1st of Sept, Oct and now Nov despite repeated attempt to reach someone at # listed in newa paper. i have sent 2 emails to abilenereporternews@gannett.com without response. I really enjoy reading The Abilene Reporter News, while I have my morning coffee at Starbucks or Hardback Café. I say read the paper it's more like reviewing or skimming it. If there is a catchy picture or a headline that grabs my I'll read the story. My highlights of the Abilene Reported News are Beetle Bailey, classifieds, police reports. Most times I'm lucky and there's one on the table when I arrive. read more
