A part of me thinks that this name sounds like a bar, but in fact it is a cafe on one of the…read moreplaza's in essen and the main reason I came here was because I wanted to try one of those amazing icecreams that the Germans seem to make. In a way people seem to think of Germany as being just beer and pretzels, however they also do some absolutely amazing icecream dishes - more than just your typical icecream scoops that you get in Australia, but a whole menu of ice cream creations. The problem I faced though was that I am not a huge fan of ice cream, so don't eat it all that much, so I was not able to compare this place with any of the others. As for a cafe, and a place to grab a coffee it was okay, but not hugely fantastic, but I will give it extra points for the icecream.

Having just read the German reviews. Well I agree on some points:-…read more Food - Standard stuff, nothing special. I had the Hamburger and had problems finishing it. I enjoyed it. So, if your hungry. Drinks - Cocktails were OK but again, nothing to write home about! Location - Ah, the location. In summer it's excellent place to sit, chill and watch the world go by. It's a nice place to meet up with people because it's so central. Service - I didn't have a problem with the service at all. I found them to be very polite and attentive. I haven't been there at the weekend, so I don't know how full it gets, but in the week, after work Load of room. All in all. Good. But, if you're looking for something special. thats why I can only give 3 stars. In summer maybe 4 because of the great location.
