Checked Yelp and saw it'd been a few years since the last review, so looked at Just Eat and saw they had a lot of positive feedback so gave them a whirl. The order was taken with minimal fuss and I was told it'd be a 30-45 minute wait which is pretty standard. It arrived just over half an hour later and it was all still piping hot. The Seaweed Combination Starter (BBQ rib, sesame prawn toast, spring roll, samosa, crispy won ton, seaweed and sweet & soup dip) was well presented and all tasted delicious - the only comment was that the samosa was a bit of a strange inclusion. For the main it was Chicken Szechuan with egg fried rice, which had plenty of chicken and the sauce was just the right level of spiciness for me (i.e. not very). The portion size is generous so there's another meal of leftovers now in the fridge. There are also a few Thai dishes on the menu which I'll try next time. Tip: they only accept cash payments. Tip: they're closed on Tuesdays but otherwise open 16:30 to 23:00 Wednesdays to Mondays.

Anyone driving through Sale can't fail to have noticed the lucky wok... Right on the main road through Sale, just behind Sainsburys, it is certainly prominent. Its location also must mean that there is little in the way of passing trade (beyond the traffic on the dual carriageway outside!), and certainly nowhere convenient to stop in a car. As such, the delivery service offered is integral in bringing the bags of egg fried rice, stir fried mixed veg with cashews, spring rolls and prawn crackers along with a few other standard dishes fresh and hot to my door. Actually, the food was average, but let's face it, most takeaways are aren't they? It was freshly cooked though, still hot when it arrived, and came with a handful of fortune cookies chucked in the box too. Can't say fairer than that.

The Samun bread was so light. Their salad bar with different pickled cabbages, olives, onion & humous was above and beyond. Few dodgy characters in there but don't let that put you off. Lamb shawarma is what's best but it's sold out by evenings.

But decided to have a go based on reviews on the site. My usual starter of lamb chops £3.50 was made up of 3 really skinny bones with meat well marinated and the result is yummy. Mains : Pilau rice, Balti Jalli Bhuna with chicken and Vindaloo with lamb. Rice authentic with colours, fluffy and greasiness acceptable. Balti chicken cooked nice and juice with the sauce smooth and visible fresh chopped herbs in it. I found it to be on the sour side. Maybe just me! And finally the vindaloo. WOW! These guys really pack the heat in! I could barely taste the balti after having some of the lamb vindy. Meats were ok but again I felt the sauce was too sour for my tastes. On the plus side the delivery service is fast n driver very pleasant. Not to mention it being slightly cheaper. Will be back for Round 2!

In this sense I might consider Abduls like marmite you either love it or hate it. I'm the latter I afraid, but the terminology is slightly harsh. Abduls is ok and does a good selection of foods, but it's everywhere and very monotonous. The kebabs are good though.

Their kebab sandwiches/rolls (ie choice of a chargrilled meat in a naan bread with salad and sauce) are pretty standard and taste quite similar to the other kebab rolls I have had along the curry mile. It does what it says on the tin though, I got a chicken tikka kebab on naan bread with two sauces and a salad, great if you're on an empty stomach, for a mere £3.60 you can't go wrong. Their can drinks are 0.70p though. Few doors down you get a similar kebab for £3.20 and 0.50p a canned drink at Saajan's. Not sure what the hype is about. All these kebabs taste the same to me. This one in particular could have done with more spice or salt.

As soon as I sat down I decided that I was going to try something different to my usual choice of meat samosas and lamb rogan josh. To start I had the chicken tikka pieces. The chicken was juicy and the spice balance was perfect, it even came with a little side salad to help cleanse the palate. For main I opted for Haleem, which is a dish made from a mixture of lentils cooked with ground lamb cooked in a rich sauce. It came topped with crisp onions, stem ginger and coriander. This was a bit of a let down to be honest, the texture was peculiar and reminded me of melted cheese in that it was quite clumped together and stringy. Bit off putting really. The peshwari naan was exceptionally sweet - a little too close to being a breaded dessert to be honest. It wasn't the best food I've had on curry mile and the service was pretty average.

After an attempt to order on the labyrinth of Papa John's website, which led to huge amounts of stress, we gave up and headed straight onto Just-Eat. Remembering the tasty order we had last time, and great value, Noddy's was our first port of call. For £11.99 we got 2 pizzas (with 3 toppings each), 2 portions of chips, 2 cans of coke, AND a portion of onion rings. And it's all really tasty! The chips aren't flabby, the onion rings are super tasty, and the pizzas have a great covering of toppings. Though I didn't finish my pizza, I took it in to work the next day and had it for lunch - the sign of a good pizza is that you can eat it cold the next day! So, next time you're a bit peckish and want to know that you will enjoy your takeaway meal, or simply celebrating final exams results as we were, Noddy's is a safe bet.

I'm not quite as enthusiastic as Colin, but I'm a bit of a fan of Noddy's too. I like the way they offer healthier, more unusual vegetarian takeaway food, like falafel, hummous and pitta, as well as your standard veggie burgers, pizzas and chips. The prices are really good too. So when I go here after the pub, I don't feel too guilty about ordering loads of grub! There's a rather wonderful sign outside Noddy's, which promises 'you ring, Noddy brings.' However, I have yet to determine whether this means that Noddy will deliver your food in person. I like to think so

The food arrived ahead of the delivery estimate that was given, it was hot enough so no complaints there. The delivery driver however was quite surly and impatient when we went to the door. The food itself was disappointing, the Crispy Chicken in Lemon Sauce was far too tough and the chips that the dish came with were as my father-in-law exclaimed like the chips in the canteen at work which isn't really saying much! The Chicken in Satay Sauce was bland, chopped up into tiny bits and the rice was all sticky, clumped together and stodgy. All in all reasonable service but disappointing food, just about edible but not up to the standards of a proper Chinese takeaway, more of the type of food from a takeaway that does everything. Would not order from again..
