I hired Brian Myers of Professional Handyman Services of London and Chatham to paint 1 bedroom plus…read moreone other bedroom wall and do simple repairs at the same time, so I thought the $35/hour he quoted was fair. When he showed up, he said he'd finish the painting before any repairs, and it took TWO DAYS just to put on two coats of paint. I was charged $560 plus the paint that I bought myself. He applied the paint poorly with bare patches & uneven. I paid the full fee because he agreed to come back to put on another coat for free and to put my son's roller blind back up, but after keeping me waiting for several weeks he failed to come back & then after making me wait a couple more weeks, he failed to partially refund as agreed. He blamed the poor paint coverage on ME by saying I told him not to prime, and he seems to have set me up by texting me the night before the job to ask me about primer and to state that he always lets his clients decide. I sent him this email message from the paint store: "Our paint is an ultra premium product and there is no priming required going from one paint colour to the next and will cover beautifully in two coats." Brian wrote back that "I have no problem with no primer because it sounds like the paint people believe in there product ...and will back it up." I would not recommend him to anyone.
