We had to come back as we were concerned about our kitten's sneezing and watery eyes and we saw Dr. Prue this time around, and she was just as helpful and thorough with us, checking just about everything to make sure our cat is in tip top condition. I'm very impressed with the doctors and staff here, you can tell all of them has a great appreciation for animals and this makes you feel that bringing your pet here means they will get the best care and service possible.

I used to take my dogs here for all their vet treatment. Both dogs have long since gone to where…read moredogs go when they die and I now go to a vet closer to home. On Lexington Avenue in Bella Vista, if you go too fast you miss the driveway which is hidden. The large signs saying Sydney Animal Hospital can only be seen from one direction so be careful. The hospital is bright and cheery - it reminds me of a children's dentist. All the vets on duty are female and very caring of the animals. They explain things very well and give you alternatives if you have a seriously ill pet. They also have a grooming salon. You take your pet in the morning then pick them up after 3pm smelling and looking beautiful. The prices are very reasonable and they take credit cards. They have a full retail store where you can buy dry food for dogs and cats and all accessories. It's too far for me to take my current dogs there as there are several vets closer but if I lived closer I would definitely still be using them.

I stop in here often to pick up my picky eater's cat food and so far have held out against the kitten temptation. But barely. I am always greeted with a smile and some puzzlement over my cat's name. It's a literary joke, nobody gets it but me. They're grateful it's not another 'Tigger' though, clogs up their computer system no end. The staff here were universally kind last year when my cranky old gentleman of a cat got sick and they had to deal with not only a terrified cat but a sadly near-hysterical cat custodian (ownership is not really an appropriate term for a cat). It was a little confusing speaking to a different vet every time I had to ring or come in, but all were patient and caring. I'm off now to melt into a squeaky puddle at the sight of kittens. It's pathetic.

From the moment we walked through the door, the experience was seamless and warm. The Warmest Welcome: My daughter and I were greeted immediately by the super-friendly front desk team. They made Faith, our Cavoodle, feel like a total VIP right away, offering her a snack that she happily gobbled up. It really set a positive tone for the whole visit. Expert Care from Dr. Glen: We were quickly seen by Dr. Glen, and it was clear right away that we were in very experienced hands. Faith had been constantly licking her feet, and Dr. Glen performed a very thorough examination to get to the bottom of it. He prescribed a specialised wash and antibiotics to clear things up, and he also handled her yearly immunisations with such care. Above and Beyond Service: The "extras" here really make a difference: * GapOnly: I was so pleased to find out they accept GapOnly payments, which made the checkout process stress-free. * The Treats: The staff gave Faith another treat on the way out (she certainly wasn't complaining!). * Local Tips: They even suggested we visit Cafe Bones afterward. So, I have been taking my furkid to these guys for the last 7 years…read more Only last week my fur man started to not eat so I took him in. Initial consultation and blood tests and other tests as well as antibiotics and food all came to a grand total of $506. Ouch, I know. But this is my furkid we're talking about - the money came out of my moving fund because you see, I'm moving tomorrow. I got a call from the vet yesterday saying I needed to take him back as he is extremely dehydrated to the point that the vet is concerned for his kidney's and that they may fail. Cue my hyperventilation. Being that I'm moving in a few days, the vet wanted me to bring him back in to be put on an IV to re-hydrate him to ensure his kidney's don't suffer. Sure no problem, however he refused to give me a quote on how much we're looking at because I wasn't sure how I could afford it without a payment plan. But the vet wouldn't do or offer anything apart from give me a guilt trip about how his kidney's are something that won't recover once injured. Gee thanks for the compassion and understanding. I've been a loyal customer for 7 years and just paid you a whole lot of money the day before. The least you could do after making me cry at work because you told me my cat's kidney's are going to fail and he's going to die is offer me some kind of payment plan so that I can bring him straight in as, in your words, "I classify it as a medical emergency". But no. You're heartlessness has cost you a loyal customer. If you're after a vet that cares, for the love of whatever gods you believe in, do not take your pet here.
