Meet the Business Owner: Dan B.
Owner of Aarrow Bail Bonds.
Prior to becoming a bail bondsman, Dan was unaware of how our criminal justice system operated. In performing this job, he became aware of some of the shortcomings of our justice system.
So in 2015, Dan wrote and published the book, "You Arrested for What? A Bail Bondsman's Observations of Virginia's Criminal Justice System". It discusses some of the injustices of our system.
For example, is it right to immediately assign a defendant to a probationary punishment where they have to check in, perform drug testing, or attend (and pay for) educational training courses - all prior to the trial? If assigned to pretrial services, that's exactly what happens.
Dan hopes to inform the public of the injustices and perhaps change some of these bad laws and policies.
